While I did not officially participate in the “Big Sit” at Chatfield State Park
on Sunday, we did see a migrating broad-winged hawk over the model airplane
field, and watched it work its way to the Roxborough Rd entrance. This took
place at 12:15PM, and the real credit
COBirders-- Yesterday about midday some 180 Sandhill Cranes flew over the
western part of the city of Pueblo, probably on their way to the Monte Vista
area.Their flight path was pointed more toward San Luis but no doubt
they made an adjustment crossing the mountains. As usual I heard their
This morning a tardy female *American Redstart *was along Massey Draw in
the area below my home in Ken Caryl Valley, Jefferson Co. A *Northern
Mockingbird *there was notable for the location; this was only my 4th
observation of the species in the KC Valley in three years. This afternoon

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day, everybody. Some recent observations from
around eastern Boulder County:
Early this Monday morning, Oct. 10, I visited the Lake Park Open Space in
Louisville, where I heard and saw a remarkable *Woodhouse scrub-jay.* The
bird looked normal
My husband and I saw about 30 or 40 sandholl cranes flying over our house
around 5:30 pm last evening.

then had a day with a very late start because it was so cold (Fri), then 3
nice days with a moderate number of birds with a variety of species but
