I would like to say December's Wilson's Snipe and Purple Sandpiper at
Dillon. However, these birds actually appeared to dislike each other.
Purple Sandpiper chased Wilson's Snipe away when I was there once in late
Dec. To my knowledge, Chatfield's current Trumpeter is a loner with no

On Sunday, I visited this area of the south platte. Along 88th, I did not
see an adult male Barrow's, but I did see what appears to be an immature
male Barrow's. Also nine Northern Pintails. Nice seeing the adult male
Barrow's! Where exactly was it?
Also near 64th I got my year bird Yellow-rumpe
This mourning around 8 AM, I was at school at Cherry Creek High School. I
heard the framiliar 'chip' of a Yellow-rumped Warbler. I looked up at the
top of a decidous tree to see the definite size, shape, and flight style of
a Yellow-rumped Warbler. No photos, couldn't see if it was Audubon's or
Any Juniper Titmice?

This evening, a group of about 8 bushtits were feeding at once on suet in
my yard. I was suprised to see a Black-eared form, my first ever.
Unfortunately, I was unable to get a photo. Hopefully he will come back
with the rest of the Bushtits. How regular is this in Colorado?

Hi all -
went to Cherry Creek State Park. Highlights were the continueing immature
Mew Gull at the marina, teal/shoveler quadfecta at the bird observation
platform, and a Pectoral Sandpiper also at the observation platform. A good
day for Barn Swallows, also. In all, I estimate 150, and that is
Amazing find! Apparently they are still rare on the east coast, but have
them every fall or so somewhere there. Could this bird have been blown by
Hurricane Florence?

Hi all - I found a SANDERLING at about 3 PM at the NW corner of the reservoir
at Cherry Creek SP. It will be posted on ebird w photos by tonight. It's at
marina in the muddy area where the shore meets the edge of the dam. Also of
note was an American Pipit (on the dam shore), Hooded Merganser (f

a lot in about a two hundred foot radius weat of South Platte res. A very
beautiful bird and a lifer. Also, I am pretty sure I found a Mexican Duck x
Mallard at southern end or Eaglewatch lake in South Platte Park.

look at the Tropical Kingbird. No luck. The bird moved around a lot so I could

I dipped on the Fork-tailed Flycatcher this morning. Between all of 111th
street from Prince Lake to Erie Pkwy being closed and all the construction
along Carbonate Lane, I missed it. I stopped by the north side of Standley

Pink-footed Goose was present along ice edge w/ Cackling Geese on lake
closest to CR 7. The bird was resting w/ its head tucked in most of the
time, but it swam and walked around, revealing its namesake legs, before
flying off. Torso colored like Cackling, but browner, with white stripe on
edge
The bird was seen this morning, but it flew off around 8:30 AM. It may
still be worth trying for, though.

In my yard in Centennial (Arapahoe County), Spotted Towhees are a regular
bird. A few days back, I noticed a female Spotted Towhee it seemed with an
orange cap. This is the same place that a Green-tailed Towhee would have an
orange cap. It led me to speculate the bird may be a Green-tailed Tow

include a group of RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, HORNED GREBES, WESTERN
GREBES,CLARKS GREBES, and CALIFORNIA GULL. Two CLARKS GREBES were at the

I was looking through the ebird rarity photos and found out New Mexico
apparently has its first Black-crested Titmouse in Clovis, these last
couple weeks. With the recent Red-breasted Sapsucker (which I hope to go
see!), I was wondering if New Mexico's record for this species could mean

I'm willing to bet Cactus Wren, Carolina Chickadee, Black-crested Titmouse,
Common/King Eider (several inland records in midwest + Canadian plains),
Barnacle Goose (1 record each in AR, TX, and NM), Heerman's Gull,

I also saw hundreds of gulls (150+) around 5:10 PM flying over near
Belleview and Dayton (near NE Cherry Creek SP). Same flock?
