You must be confusing our ircd with other ircds floating in circulation on
the Internet. The Undernet ircd (ircu) does not perform any type of host
encryption at any level.

Hmm, not much of a translator, but it appears the system time.h isn't where
it's supposed to be. You may want to change the #include in
userload.c to #include ?

Why wouldn't that be intentional? what's the point of checking whether the

Yeah, my instinct told me the bufferpool was doing it's devilish work. But
the crazy thing is, instantly the program starts off using 85MB worth of
memory -- and doesn't appear to accumulate over time.

Hello,
Has anyone else experienced high amounts of memory being used on FreeBSD 4.7
systems for ircu2.10.11rc2/rc3? I've got reports from a c-c user that his
server is drawing 85MB of memory. We've tried disabling the kqueue and
devpoll engines, just testing and we've also toyed with the ircd.co
You should contact OmniDymc on irc, he is the Undernet test floodnet man. I
think it can be achieved thru one of his current projects, HAL.

That sounds like an aweful complex way of original host hiding. Why not
just do the traditional "Undernet.sub.domain.com" or "127.0.0.xxx" instead
of all this fancy stuff?

No, it's made to make sure you don't just set +x and evade the ban for your
original host.

If you are looking for a stable pair of recommended services for the

It is possible to have more than MAXBANS in a channel. Usually this
occures from a server or a service initiating the ban; servers ignore the
MAXBAN value in this case.

Hey, I also run a small sized network that is based off the undernet
ircd. I recently developed our own service to perform as a uworld and a
proxy cleaner. I'll post it at www.astrolink.org/uworld4-pl2.tar.gz

Yes, Brian is right, it was ruled out in the early years of protocol 10
due to high uses of bandwidth. Altho, if you are really interested in
this, it would be pretty easy to modify the ircu to your own liking and
placing a final argument on the end of the burst line between servers.
