Hi list,
I have a series of Cisco switches with sensors on each port measuring
Tx/Rx power, temperatures etc. I'm not sure however how to configure
the SNMP plugin to poll this.
My primary index for looking up data is the ifIndex, and secondarily
the interface name.
IF-MIB::ifIndex.148 = INTEGER
e all the sensors data in one file and have
them connected to the right interface but this seems a bit, impossible
right now...

Hi,
In the documentation there are some options for the rrdtool plugin
with regards to StepSize and some RRA-specifics. I am dependent on
tuning these values. However, I'm using the rrdcached plugin, not
rrdtool. How to proceed?
Thanks in advance

ction handled by collectd is somewhat faulty... I can
connect to rrdcached by telnet and issue commands without problem...

Which leads me to believe that there is a per-process(or
thread?) limit somewhere.
Information on the internet on the issue is scarce other than the file
descriptor limit which I believe is unrelated.

So my current work-around and using several collectd processes seems
to be a permanent one :-)

Thank you Bill, but notice that I'm not trying to collect the actual
sensor data (I'm doing that without problems) but the threshold values
for the various sensors, hence the 1-4 index.
The equipment is mainly Cisco ME3400 switches.

The data is collected fine from the switch:
rrdtool lastupdate cisco_cpu-1.rrd
cpu5sec cpu1min cpu5min
1352118105: 22.00 10.00 9.00
But nothing is written to the notiftest-file so I'm assuming th

I have ~3-4000 switchports to monitor so keep that in mind :)
