I can certainly add the SVG version of the icons to the repository, after all
as mentioned above they are under Apache 2.0 licensed.
What do you mean under that the svg needs specific dimensions? My SVG knowledge
is very limited, I only knew that it is a kind of xml describing the vectors,
colors, etc.

The png images has been crated by resizing the png versions from 270x200 ->
16x12 then adjusted it the bitmap has been enlarged to 16x16 with two empty
rows on the top and the bottom

> When I create a Java with Maven -> Java Frontend Application and try to run
> it as a NetBeans plugin, it doesn't work. It shows me, that some modules
> can't be enabled. This happens for a project type, that already exists in
> NetBeans w/o having a 3rd-party-plugin installed and a clean install (no user
> dir, no cache, nothing). Just downloaded 11.2 beta 1 and started it fresh.
> As you can see, I'm running NetBeans 11.2 beta 1 on JDK 11.0.2 but I also

> Steps to reproduce:
> * Create a new Project
> * Choose "Java with Maven" -> "Java Frontend Application"
> * Click on "Download & Activate" on the wizard for the project if needed.
> * Wait for nbjavac and javafx downloaded and activate the missing features
> * On wizard page "Name and Location" leave everything as it is and click next
> * On next wizard page "Choose Platform" choose "Run as a NetBeans plugin" and
> click next
> * On next wizard page "Select a template" leave everything as it is and click

> * On next wzard page "What will be created?" click finish
> * Wait for everything is created and opened and you see the multi module
> project.
> * Right click on your multi module project and click on properties
> * * Go to sources make sure that you have chosen 1.8 at "Source/Binary Format"
> * * Go to Build -> Compile and choose your Java platform, in my Case it is

> * * Go to Configurations and choose a target platform. I tried for ANB 10.0
> and 11.1
> * Open the submodule "YourProjectName Client for NetBeans"
> * Try to run your submodule "YourProjectName Client for NetBeans" in your

> * When NetBeans started the modules, you got the message that not all modules

> One thing that struck me while attending Ed Burns' JSF talk[1] about JSF 2.3

> In the past, NetBeans releases were coordinated with Java EE releases. When

[jira] [Created] (NETBEANS-3220) MacOS. Input fields in some dialogs are mapped to CTRL key instead of CMD key.

2019-10-08 Thread Malcolm Fitzgerald (Jira)
Malcolm Fitzgerald created NETBEANS-3220:

Summary: MacOS. Input fields in some dialogs are mapped to CTRL
key instead of CMD key.
 Key: NETBEANS-3220
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-3220
 Project: NetBeans
  Issue Type: Bug
  Components: platform - Dialogs&Wizards
Affects Versions: 11.1
 Environment: Mac OS X 10.13.6
Reporter: Malcolm Fitzgerald

Open the git->remote->clone... dialog and the input fields respond to CTRL-C,
CTRL-X, CTRL-V. The do not respond to CMD-C, CMD-X, CMD-V.

This is very confusing for Mac OS users.

I have had this happen in several different dialogs but have not kept track of
them all.

The version ID is taken from the netbeans.buildnumber property. I think the
super long hash-based one only occurs in the dev version. Shortening it would
probably be best done at the build system level.

Eirik Bakke commented on NETBEANS-2417:

Laszlo--good that you asked, especially since some icons (like this one) seem
to involve extra license-related work. If a third-party company goes through
the trouble to license their logo for use in an Apache project, then please be
sure that this includes an SVG version, not just the bitmap!

SVG support in NetBeans will come once
https://github.com/apache/netbeans/pull/1278 is merged. To anticipate this,
simply store an SVG version of the icon with the same base name but different
extension. So if the bitmap is called "gradle.png", keep a file "gradle.svg"
alongside it. The SVG file needs to have explicit dimensions (width/height),
e.g. 16x16.

See the latest entry in
https://github.com/apache/netbeans/blob/c386c397d36ee99edf255950fe3329adf5378936/platform/openide.util.ui/apichanges.xml

Best to use 11.2 beta2 at this stage:

The text cannot start immediately after the opening quotes of the block, i.e.,
your example is invalid:

public static String x = """test""";
