   Resolution: Fixed

> Key: NETBEANS-4300

>Assignee: Anthony Vanelverdinghe
>Priority: Major
> Labels: pull-request-available
> Fix For: 12.0
>
> Time Spent: 1.5h
> Remaining Estimate: 0h
>
> To reproduce:
> * create a new maven project
> * add the entry
> JDK_13 to the
> properties in the pom.xml
> * open the project properties dialog go to Build -> Compile
> * Switch "Java Platform" to the entry that is marked "(Default)".
> * Acknowledge the change with OK
> * Check pom.xml
>
> {quote}Why not remove the property from the POM? (override the value from a
> parent pom?)
> {quote}
> Not sure if I understand what you're asking, but if it is: why don't you
> remove the property from the POM? Then, yes, it doesn't make sense to specify
> {{@@DEFAULT@@}} as the value, but if NetBeans writes it to the POM, it should
> at least do so without typos. And ideally it shouldn't write it to the POM at
> all, but that's an issue of its own
> {quote}How is this story about backwards compatibility?
> {quote}
> Imho this is a negligible issue. At worst, people will get an {{Unresolved
> project problem}} saying {{No such Java Platform: @@DEFAU:T@@}}, upon which
> they'll select a Java Platform of their choosing in the settings and that's
> it. But I doubt this will impact many users at all.

[jira] [Updated] (NETBEANSINFRA-189) Copied files get truncated

Frederic Simons updated NETBEANSINFRA-189:
--
Description:
By improving the copying of the modules files in this [pull
request|https://github.com/apache/netbeans-mavenutils-nbm-maven-plugin/pull/8],
I overlooked some major flaw in my code.

Using JarOutputstream, it is not easily possible to update a single entry of a
zip (in this case jar) file.

Please revert the mentioned pull request to restore the original code
behaivior. I have a new pull request in the pipeline that actually does what
the original pull request intended and also keeps the optimized performance
without truncating files.

Best regards
 Frederic Simons

This also affects downloading sources and Javadoc. Instead of an error message
indicating a TLS error, NetBeans just shows "No sources for ….jar available."
as if there was no source JAR published.

This also affects downloading sources. Instead of an error message indicating a
TLS error, NetBeans just shows "No sources for ….jar available." as if there
was no source JAR published.

Summary: java/maven dependency graph extremely slow
 Key: NETBEANS-4314
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-4314
 Project: NetBeans
  Issue Type: Bug
Reporter: Bernd Wahlen

when selecting graph in maven pom.xml, UI hangs for about 10 minues in
medium-sized (~70 dependencies) project. Experienced this issue for for long
time and still in 11.3, but definitely not in nb8. And btw graph calculation is
using only 1 cpu core.
environment: ubuntu 20.04 lts / adopt 14.0.1 / nb 11.3 via snap / i3-6100

Hello,

I noticed, that FiraCode does not work properly in 11.3.

Are there any workarounds for this?

Kind regards

Andi

Well, that depends on the server. If we specify, via hard coding a message,
that Java 8 is required, then that would need to be changed whenever a server
supports a later JDK.

Geertjan Wielenga commented on NETBEANS-554:

Tried this too, can't reproduce it.

Plus, I don't think this is a major feature of NetBeans, it would be great to
have it evaluated and fixed, though I don't think this should impact the
release.
