Hi.

In Netbeans 8.2 we have the option to Navigate to a File from XML configuration.

But in Netbeans 12 we don't have this feature anymore.

I wish you can integrate that feature please.

I send you a video to show you the feature in action.

Regards.

Rafael Avelar L.

Hey [~DevCharly] thx for the info. From one FlatLaF to another one w/o restart
is totally fine. Like from dark to light and vice versa. I just wanted to see
such a theming from like your demo application. Are those all look and feels or
just themes/templates? And how we should handle them in NetBeans? Like
standalone look and feels or else?

> As far as I know, there ia theming option for FlatLaF inside the FlatLaF

> The problem of NetBeans changing LaF is you often need to restart, because

> So it would be nice, if we can switch the FlatLaF theme easy via NetBeans as

> I already asked here: https://github.com/JFormDesigner/FlatLaf/issues/29

When I created the ticket, it was back in April 2019, the problem was based on
the old Plugin Portal. You always could upload your npm file to this portal,
but it will never shown within the IDE Plugin Manager until you signed it.

If this is not the case anymore with the new PP2 so if there are no 2 options,
than I'm fine and we can close this ticket.

[jira] [Commented] (NETBEANS-2360) HiDPI scaling not applied automatically on Linux

Looking at the OpenJDK HiDPI implementation on Linux (
https://github.com/openjdk/jdk/blob/6bab0f539fba8fb441697846347597b4a0ade428/src/java.desktop/unix/native/common/awt/systemscale/systemScale.c
), there seems to be an attempt to get per-monitor scaling factors on GNOME
via the "com.ubuntu.user-interface"/"scale-factor" setting. I don't have an
Ubuntu machine to test on, though.

> Running NetBeans 11 on Kubuntu 18.03, GUI text size does not seem to take
> into account the system's default HiDPI scaling. This was reported in a
> Twitter thread on https://twitter.com/nicktail/status/1114789604337405952 .
> Note that Window decorations seem to be the correct size.
> Setting the GDK_SCALE environment variable seems to fix the problem, if I
> understand the originally reporter correctly. This could probably be done
> easily from the NetBeans launcher script (netbeans/bin). But it wouldn't fix
> the problem in multi-monitor setups. We should investigate what could be done
> to make scaling work properly in multi-monitor setups involving one HiDPI
> screen and one non-HiDPI screen.
> Before merging a patch to the launcher script, it should be tested on a
> couple of different Linux environments, using both HiDPI and non-HiDPI
> screens. Note that the UNIX launcher script is also used on MacOS.
