Tried using [KMS running on CentOS 7 via SNAP ported from Ubuntu 16.04|https://snapcraft.io/install/kurento-media-server/centos]. It seemed to get around the issues with KMS but concerns around stability, future support and security eventually advised a switch to Ubuntu. The installation on Ubuntu 18.04 was seamless. You've been very helpful.) So as to be clear, I did change the IP address in server.xml and it worked fine. Please provide some guidance on the following: 1) Are you running on CentOS or on Ubuntu? If so, what version? It appears that the environment variables differ slightly from one to the other. (Should we recommend running this on Ubuntu primarily, perhaps?) 2) Could you please send me the exact syntax for changing that IP address from IPv4 to IPv6 in applicationContext.xml,L148? Here is what I currently have: "ws://127.0.0.1:/kurento". Please specify exactly what the revised IP address should be (in the revised IPv6 addressing)? 3) I raised the issue of opening the port in the firewall. Please take a look and see if that port has to be open on the firewall; it is currently closed. Could this be an issue? Would opening it create a security issue in this context? Look forward to your feedback. (Hang in there with me, Maxim; we'll make this work and address this issue for other users of the wonderful work you have done on this application. On behalf of the community, thank you.) > Multimedia Server Is Inaccessible (CentOS 7) > > > Key: OPENMEETINGS-2224 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENMEETINGS-2224 > Project: Openmeetings > Issue Type: Bug > Components: Audio/Video, Recordings >Affects Versions: 5.0.0-M3 > Environment: Here are my basic specs: CentOS Linux release 7.7.1908, > MySQL version: 10.1.44-MariaDB. >Reporter: Appdev >Assignee: Maxim Solodovnik >Priority: Major > Attachments: image-2020-04-06-07-08-17-107.png, > image-2020-04-06-07-13-34-216.png > > > Hi: > I notice this issue has been discussed in a number of previous threads but I > do not see a resolution in those threads. It didn't work. I should point out a few things I noticed. 1) Prior to this I had changed the default ports for OM from \{5080, 5443} to \{80, 443} because some ISPs block access to those higher ports making the installation unavailable to users in certain locations. (This problem we are dealing with existed BEFORE that change was made.) 2) When I change the applicationContext file, the installation refers back to the higher port (5443) in spite of the previous change in the configuration of OM. 3) After making the changes I could not reach the application. I then ran the netstat query below. Please see the echo. Let me know if this provides some insight. It appears that if we restrict the Java infrastructure to IPv4 then this issue will be resolved. OR we force the application to listen to the appropriate IPv6 port. Please advise on exact syntax to make sure we are getting it right.
