For the moment I know only two distributions that I like for using it as a telephone: Android and QtE, or Qtmoko now. You can find sources in my git branch qt451. Cool, I'm going to merge from you :) Another thing is qmplayer - media player that can play ogg/mp3/avi files but is also able to download or stream media from PC. You can find more info on qmplayer homepage [2]. Kernel is now based on packaging config. The kernel size is now under 2MB so it can be booted with u-boot. We have also new logo [3] (thanks to my wife). My plan for future is to merge other's GIT's - i am running build right now, so we'll see if that worked :) On the experimenting front - i was able to run TangoGPS and other X apps via vnc. It was quite slow and mouse dragging wanst working, but still quite usable. Btw is anyone planning to release ready-to-flash QtMoko images for FSO? I see there is just install script, but i would like to have image that can be just flashed and booted. What about looking into SHR or other openmoko distro to copy the compile options of SDL? I think SDL is a needed instrument, because it would allow the support of many applications that are not supported by Qt Extended because they need X. That's the reason why Linux kernel uses GIT and not SVN. Just check this page: http://git.kernel.org/ these are all branches for one single project - linux kernel. It's how GIT works. If there was one central repository then we would need to agree witch patches can go in and people would break others work. Now i just see that person XXX fixed problem YYY and i will merge this to my tree. And if i trust that person i will merge his whole tree. And with github it's really easy to check what everybody did. Check e.g. http://github.com/radekp/qtmoko/network You can see how people are branching your tree and that they do changes. And you can pull their changes back to your tree. So this is coordinated effort and it's very different from times when branching meant forking the project (mainly because of disputes between developers). I think that Qt-Extended is an awesome OS for openmoko. Now I'm only
bug reporting, but I think that from this summer, I'll have enough
spare time to be able to study deeper Qt-Extended, and be able to help
with the code. I have a repositoryhoting account
(repositoryhosting.com) and, if you want, I can give you an SVN/GIT
with a trac. I know you already have one, but if this is a cost for
you, you might want to drop this cost. The account I have is not very
used (I'm using less than the 0.01%) and I pay the same if I use the
0.01% or the 100% ;).

After you make a call, should appear a sort of advice with the data you requested.
