Latest SHR-?

2010-01-28 Thread Tony McKeehan
I heard somewhere that there are some SHR-stable images on the way. Have they been released? If not, what image (lite) would you suggest I pick up for the time being that works best as an everyday phone (ie the most recent image)? Also, is there any specific kernel that has the logging

Not my primary phone, but I use it form time to time to surf the web/play games with Hackable:1 or QtMoko (only distros that connect to web). Not huge fan of SHR, because the interface does not lend itself well to a phone (can't even create+type+send an SMS in less than a minute, much less

Yeah, NeronGPS is in the QtMoko feeds and all you need to install it is a recent version of QtMoko and an internet connection. It's native to the Qt framework that QtMoko uses and doesn't need an X server. It has a slightly different interface from Navit and tango, but it's pretty easy to get

I understand, I'll work on fixing it. The algorithm itself is unique and is really just another rendition of a predictive keyboard and could be built to support any other keyboard layout, if need be. -Tonym Atilla Filiz wrote: On Thu, Dec 10, 2009 at 7:47 PM, arne anka

He's using rev5rc1 of Hackable:1. It's based on 2007.2, but much more advanced. It's not an FSO-based distro, but the devs say that they'll convert it to FSO by the time rev6 comes out. -Tonym Sebastian Krzyszkowiak wrote: On Tue, Nov 17, 2009 at 10:58, Atilla Filiz atilla.fi...@gmail.com

[SHR] which to use?

2009-10-29 Thread Tony McKeehan
I was thinking about try SHR again, but I don't know which image I should use. I heard somewhere that there was a mostly-stable image built in October, but I can't find it anywhere. I have the unstable from early September, but I thought that there was something more recent than that. Thanks,

Would this only work with SHR/QtMoko, etc, or would this also work on Android? I guess my question is, can this be solved from the kernel, or is it done through the distribution itself? -Tonym Yogiz wrote: Anyway, I agree we should make QVGA work well, and I would use it for most apps. We

HTC recently released the kernel source code to the Hero. Would this be of any use to use? Would it be possible to get the HTC Sense OS on the Freerunner? Or, worst case scenario, we could at least get some information on how HTC modified Android to learn from. http://developer.htc.com/ Let

Re: SHR status

I have personally had many troubles with SHR in the past. For one, I don't think the Contacts application has ever worked for my SIM card. It immediately crashes. It might be because it hasn't finished loading all of the contacts from SIM, but crashing is a poor way of handling this issue.

SHR is indeed the most-used. I think making a package for the upcoming H:1 rev5 would be cool, too. Also, I think the Om2009 maintainers all moved on to SHR anyways. -Tonym SCarlson wrote: Hello Everyone -- I've been off the radar for a while, decided to stop back in and noticed that Doom

I know there's one trick where you can tap the power button to turn the FR on, then press and hold the AUX button for the entire duration that's it's lit up red (this is you telling Qi that you want to skip that boot option) and it will move on to NAND. You can find more info at the wiki's Qi
