please, please do NOT quote the message. If you do, the spammer gets the
"commercial" displayed once more.

Plus, the efficiency of Bayesian filters is decreased by doing this
because non-spam messages very similar to spam appear and get learned.

This person gets around.

I'm also on the laptop.org policy discussion mailing list. These spams
are showing up there too. Same name and address:

"Super Star" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

So somebody is methodically going around to various open-source-related
lists and subscribing, so they can enlighten us all for a while.

Judging by the headers, these are coming through Google's servers, so
it's a real gmail account, not just a Joe Job spoof.

Anybody have any experience dealing with gmail admins? Maybe we can get
this account deleted.

good for you, however i use gmail webmail; so don't have that much
control. i have marked their email as spam so i would hope the google
guys will get onto them and stop them spanning our list, and others!

a recent report put spam as 80% of all email traffic, amazing really.

Even if the list does no spam filtering (or not sufficent enough), you
can process your own
I filtered the last superstar&others mails with no annoyance. ;)

IMHO, the true issue remains the bandwidth usage and the server
load it is up to the openmoko admins to decide if spam is really
annoying or not.
