Re: incorrect shipment type?
Small update: OM kindly has (or will) refunded us the difference between ground and 2nd day -- thus the situation is resolved and we are patiently and passionately waiting ;-) By that email I thought to collect some kind of statistic from the reactions of people if that was common situation, and it seems it wasn't, so that is good, and distributor I guess did good job after all. My comment: As for overreacting -- being open source should never imply worse quality. Besides being opensource, freerunner is a commercial product, thus I don't think we should lower the bar and our expectation from the provided 'service' and 'goods': sure thing we should be a bit 'relaxed' when it gets to hardware since it is somewhat harder in phone-world to select and combine pieces which satisfy openmoko project requirements. Sure thing we can lower a bar for the state of software as it is shipped now -- openmoko was intended to be a community project and OM's team did its best to get HW ready as soon as it is ready so community could get is hands dirty ;-) Service (ie shipment etc) is completely other side of the medal. Re: incorrect shipment type?
I payed for my freerunner on june 17 and pre-ordered trough a reseller and right now it is waiting in Paris to be shipped to Belgium. There was a delay with the shipment to the reseller. But I'm not complaining, half the device still doesn't work right so I'm not missing that much ;-). Seriously: You should of course get a refund on the shipping and they should pick up the phone. In the meantime: enjoy the anticipation. y On Tue, Jul 15, 2008 at 1:45 AM, Josh Monson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I experienced a similar situation. RE: incorrect shipment type?
I experienced a similar situation. Ordered one day but the order did not go through for several days because they were so busy and back-ordered trying to get shipments out. I think these sold faster than they may have anticipated. Anyhow, mine is showing up tomorrow, which is only 4 days after when it should have shown up. Customer support has been on top of it as far as getting me the tracking number right away. Try and give them a little leeway with the type of product they are offering and the fact that no one else offers this.so they will obviously have some logistics issues, but under the circumstances IMHO I'm cutting them some slack :) cheers -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Flemming Richter Mikkelsen Sent: Monday, July 14, 2008 4:21 PM To: List for Openmoko community discussion Subject: Re: incorrect shipment type? incorrect shipment type?
Hi All, Sorry for distracting you away from playing with FRs, but wanted to share experience our bulk order (order #2267) is going through: although we ordered it with 2nd-day air it got shipped Ground, thus instead of 2 days we have to expect it in 1 week. I am not sure if anything could be done at this point, although seller could utilize UPS delivery intercept http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/tracking/help/delivery/delivery_intercept.html?WT.svl=SubNav and just make package go back to warehouse, meanwhile sending us our loong-awaited FRs with 2nd day air as it was requested. But humans @ FIC are overwhelmed now thus not replying to any inquiries on the phone or email. sad sad ...
