Dear Eddy,
I believe it will in the interest of the community to share the letter
with any personal data redacted and also share the submissions of
AFRINIC to the CCM.
Is there any other reason apart from protecting personal data for
AFRINIC not to share the letter publicly?

I fail to understand how is possible, that a resolution from a public
Competition Commission is not public, even redacting personal data if needed.
In normal democratic countries, as I know, all those cases are published in
their web site.
AFRINIC legal staff must take care of that.

Good news! Keep up the good work

Thanks Amreesh
I am guessing AFRINIC can waive confidentiality on its own submission - but
cannot force the complainant or Commission to waive confidentiality.
Hence my request to the CEO for AFRINIC to consider publishing its own
submission, without any further demand :-)

I’m not sure I was clear.
I understand that there may be confidential details from any of the parties,
but not the overall claim and the overall decision.
It will be very strange, at least in democratic countries (I can understand
that in dictatorial regimes, obviously), that such kind
Thanks Eddy
There have been some interesting discussions on various lists regarding this
issue.
To the extent that AFRINIC can share any of its submissions to the CCM [which
were obviously persuasive], this will be appreciated and could close off any
future discussion.

Excellent news Eddy and Afrinic team.
Despite Owen’s comments trying to diminish the value of this win, this is
undoubtedly, a great step forward.
Congrats.

And to add that, In fact AFRINIC is by extension a public institution by
means of the resource members who operate through the mandate of the public
across jurisdictions in which AFRINIC serves.
If an entity is going to complain anonymously that is their business but
this info ought to be public.
Hi Jordi
I also find it unusual - but I am not sure either you or I are in a position to
opine.
Amreesh gave a perfectly reasoned explanation of what *might* be the case and I
am not sure that arguing the issue changes anything.
Maybe you can go argue the issue with the Mauritian Competition
Dear Colleagues,
An anonymous complaint was lodged against AFRINIC in September 2021 at the
Competition Commission of Mauritius ("CCM") pertaining to alleged
anti-competitive conduct on the part of AFRINIC with respect to the transfer of
resources.
The CCM had found no such restrictive
