I think something as simple as a cheerful suggestion to Open up
would be a really good motto. It sort of suggests a feeling of
increased communication. Old phones have kept you closed off from
accessing technology the way you want, whereas trying openmoko would
let you out of such confines.
I could see a slight downside if someone interpreted it as an order,
like someone banging on your door, screaming it. It's all in the
delivery though.

Also since Openmoko allows users to turn their device into whatever
they can dream of, something like: Open to interpretation might be
another cool motto.

Mobile, Infinit

Open - to let you know!
Mobile - to let you move!
Infinit - to mach your creativity!

my thought :P

Actually, I'd say that GPL would be more correctly associated to

associated to free as in beer in this context, though, which causes
all the controversy already discussed around Free your phone. I love

Hello,

The answer is here :

Open. Mobile. Free or Free your Phone are part of official branding,
there is also typographic and graphic rules for a good communication.

Logos file and other stuff can be found here :

I've seen icon sets on the wiki somewhere, nothing about sound though.

Concerning the soundset (if I understood right you meant something like
a standard sound for the phone-startup as a lot of other companies
pratice) I think a human voice saying Openmoko - Open mobile

I personally think a human voice is a bad choice. There's NO point in
making a universal sound if it won't be universally understood.
Openmoko's uses may well extend beyond those we think of right now
which may extend into areas that wouldn't recognize (or worse, would
find offensive) a human voice. I recall someone once raising the
question of Would a south east asian rice farmer understand the
meaning of the house icon, given that his house looks nothing like
it?
