ZTerm. I use v0.9 on my SE and use it as the console to my sun systems.
NetBSD's site is a very good resource for making a mini-din (mac) to DB-9
(PC) or DB-25 (various).

I have this old SE with a 10-base-T connector which has finally succumbed
to stiction and I need a replacement hard drive for it. Please recommend
some hard drives that will connect inside this vintage Macintosh.

I am presuming that as long as I format the new drive with Apple's old
formating utility (name escapes me.) that I'll be OK regarding
read/write speed, et al?

I also have a floppy of 'MacTerminal' software. I've not had a chance
to use it yet, but looking through the manual it appears to be what
you're looking for. I like the ZTerm program that Sean talked about -
I've had great luck with it.
