Here is the update on the situation: I got an off-list email of the keystrokes to boot from the zip disk so I proceded to download OS 7.0.1 from Apple. After decoding and unstuffing, it brought up the disk image. When I open it with Stuffit Expander, version 7.0.1, it comes up with the following

I don't have any other Disk Image mounting software; all I have is Stuffit Expander. Since Expander didn't automatically attempt to mount the disk image after decoding and unstuffing, I dragged the Disk Image to the Stuffit Expander drag-and-drop window which then brought up the error message. I

Today the system on my Color Classic (7.1) reported a system error in the bomb dialog box (the one with the little bomb icon, and the restart button never works) Well, when I restart it comes up with a happy mac, whirrs, then it makes a loud static-like sound. Then the flashing floppy icon
