The patch fixes the issue of self-moving windows indeed. One exception: When
moving a window from one display to another display (multi head setup), the
window moves stubbornly. But I can live with that.

Just want to confirm that is working perfectly here, I wasn't able to patch it

This bug appears to relate to the place windows compiz plugin. I can
reliably reproduce this issue by enabling or disabling the plugin.
With place windows plugin ENABLED:
* rotating the cube to the right will move all maximised windows to workspace

I want to note here that the Expo and Cube plugins were working flawless
with mipmapping enabled on a machine with Intel HD4500 on-board gfx and
open-source driver, so the mipmapping problem just occurs with fglrx, so

I have the same problem, title bar and controls disappear from all
application windows.
This is in Gnome Classic (instead of Unity), selected at login after
installing gnome-session-fallback.
