I'm unable to reproduce this bug, as well as bug 885989. The seccond screen in xorg.conf does not appear to work (see Xorg.0.log). I do have dual (physical) screens working great via xrandr and gnome-settings daemon. This is using fglrx-updates-12.104-0ubuntu0.0.1 and kernel 3.2 in precise. Here

Hi Omar, Yes, the issue is still happening. I don't know the specifics of XkbStateNotify events, but it seems that whatever registers the key the latest gets priority. Thus, if g-s-d starts after compiz, it will get Super+p events, even though Unity (compiz) still gets the Super key when pressed

Time for a status update: We know that there is a workaround that if you start g-s-d after compiz starts, you _can_ use super+p to switch the monitor. We're not sure if this is the way it was done in 11.10 and if that's why it works in 11.10 but not in 12.04. However, the easiest fix is probably

It's actually two bugs, and perhaps it should be rewritten to reflect that. The bug in unity is that it captures the super key, and refuses access to anything further in the stack, including g-s-d. We have found a workaround for super-P for g-s-d, and that's what the verification-needed is about.
