I recently installed a new 750 Gig HD and installed XP pro. My old drive still
contains information that I want to be able to access in the Documents
Settings folder. When I try and access it I get an access denied message.
How do I get around this? I remember reading something about it but
Ed,
Give this a try. Take ownership of the folder.

Keep in mind which version of XP you are running to follow the
instructions correctly.

Shut the machine down and connect the drive.
On boot up go into safe mode.

You will right click C:
From there I cannot remember but you must take ownership of C:
Once you do this you can get the stuff off.

I live in No. Va. also and use T-Mobile pre-paid for uses like you
describe.
Advantages:
- low cost: first year I paid $100 for 1000 min. Used 500 in first
year, second year is $50 for another year. Hard to beat $4 per month.
Disadvantages: T-Mobile coverage is spotty. OK here.
Actually, that's $8.33/mo the first year. Hard to say how long you could
keep renewing minutes after that as the networks change and to get the
better coverage you may need a new phone.
Still, $4.15/mo for 10 minutes of phone calls is pretty bad. Not so long ago
that used to cost about $0.25
YMMV
You must check the coverage of any Cell phone company prepaid or not
before purchasing.
Different companies have different coverage.
What works well in one area may not work well in another.
If you will use the phones in multiple places check out the coverage
in all places.

That's what's nice about TracFone. They buy space on all of the major
companies' towers. You get coverage from whatever tower you're nearest.
I don't know how much I trust that. Tracfone won't show you a coverage
map that you can zoom in on. I checked them out years ago
This comes up from time to time, so I thought I'd pass along the newest
figures I just read in TV Technology magazine.
Clearly film and broadcast video is a vertical niche for software - Final
Cut. I have yet to try it, not being able to run it on my PC.

Need to read the fine print on the plan and ask questions. With
$10 a year sounds just cheap enough to get ME to finally buy a cell phone!
Last one I tried wouldn't get a signal where I usually hike, so I returned
it. But I'm willing to try again at that price.
Can anyone better this deal?
