I look at all kinds of places with Google maps almost daily. The
problems I've had lately are with all areas of this country and others,
at literally any zoom level in satellite mode. In other words, even
zoomed out to a view of the whole country, it may give me a zoom level

The concept of fixed and removable has never been completely
clear. I mean, we've been using removable EIDE drives for years. But
they're getting harder to find, thus my experiments with esata. I
think the word you're looking for is hotswap.
It's clearly not just an OS issue, but also a chipset

Maybe something is using it, like Windows Explorer, or maybe something
is waiting (or hanging), like Norton Ghost (or an MS Office program that
didn't close all the way). Some thoughts on possible culprits/cures:
-close any windows showing drives/folders,
-blame norton, or indexing, or
Definitely agree with that. I wish iTunes supported FLAC, I don't get why
it doesn't. Guess it's just not on their radar.

Some of the evidence of malfeasance presented against Childs are modems
(analog and DSL) that allowed backdoor access to the network. A
strong piece of evidence used in obtaining the arrest warrant was

And yet I CAN get 1440 x 900 with the VGA connection; that is how I
am running it, at that resolution. That is what is so confusing.
Why would you assume that the two would be the same? The analog circuits
can easily interpolate data that is not really there. The digital
circuits won't exceed
Of course it helps if the chipset is specifically designed for hot
swapping. I've rarely had trouble with USB or 1394 removables, whether
the drive was EIDE or SATA. But I've never been able to hotswap
directly on the EIDE bus, and now am having some trouble hotswapping
on (e)SATA

Come now, don't try to pass this crap off like that.
Admittedly, our current national administration has broken government to
a point where more people than ever have no faith in it. But it doesn't
have to be like this.

How about being so protective of your hardware that you are willing to go
to jail to keep others from molesting it? This is a fascinating story...
I think, there's enough blame to go around for everyone in this story.
Terry Childs set up a network by himself, and didn't let any of his
collegues
update.
My bug was previously reported on bugzilla so perhaps that's all that can be
done at this time.
