The MC3 doesn't seem to have a tuner. I wouldn't get one that couldn't be used for recording programs when I was finished with it. And I wouldn't mess with DL double layer DVDs. Too expensive, too much trouble. They'll never catch on. PS Don't throw away the originals. You'll likely need to record

So if you have access to an XP Pro CD and have at least Vista Business, you can downgrade by giving MS a call and they do something about the activation issue? This must mean Vista manages this process to replace/downgrade itself without a total wipe and reinstall otherwise you would need to

Generally a cell phone with a car adapter should limp you through a prolonged power outage. It's possible the cell service itself could be impacted -- the Florida hurricanes of a couple of years ago come to mind. The high winds knocked down towers directly in the path of the eye. But as I recall
