More about the Ulead which I have included with a Lenovo WebCam. It
installes a right-click dialog in everything which I want to get rid of. I
tried some menu editors which would NOT take it out. How to get it gone
from my dialogs where it occupies a spot I use for other more frequently
used combos...??

Some editing manufacturers tell you to turn off any anti-virus software
while working with video files, and then turn it back on later when
you are not editing. Don't know if this will help, but thought I would
mention it.

downloaded a free trial for EDIUS PRO 4. It also ended with error.

Both packages installed ok, and both ended while accessing camcorder
files. 2 sets of files exist: 1. Canon backup module, 2 ULEAD access
from camera. Both packages ended in error while reading a file from
each set into each editor.

The desktop is a COMPAQ Presario, cpu is 1.999ghz (a bit slow for this
app.), ram is 1G. Ulead requires 1G, but recommends 2G; the Edius
editor requires 512M, recommends 1G ram, and a cpu of 4.3ghz.

Any suggestions gratefully received. Do I need a new machine? How can
I diagnose what's wrong?

Thanks Very Much

First tell us if Windows Movie Maker works okay. Capture, edit, render?

Oh wait. That's some odd version of the new AVCHD codec. You may be on
your own with that one. I've never tried it.

You can always try the Sony Vegas trial (free to try):
