Re: [CGUYS] Comcast New Legal Policy / Co-incidental Loss of Service? Restored

2007-08-02 Thread Paula Minor
Service restored. Problem was Comcast had intentionally
disconnected me from the pole according to the tech that arrived
promptly at 5 pm for his 11 to 2 pm appointment window. I recall a
saying something like Never attribute something to malice when
mere incompatence will suffice. They are giving me a big $20.00
credit for the inconvenience.

I opted out last night. Still on so far. Seems to me they should
worry about a lawsuit if they purposely disconnect someone who has
opted out of their little scheme when they give you the option of
doing so.

ride! Have a wonderful day!

[CGUYS] Comcast new Legal Policy / Co-incidental Loss of service?

2007-07-31 Thread John Settle
The link below is to an article in the W.P. on how local governments are upset
over Comcast's new legal policy. The interesting co-incidence is that I live in
Prince George's Co., got my cable bill, read the document and promptly opted
out protecting my right to sue and be part of class action lawsuits against
Comcast. Did that Friday. Monday I lost service from Comcast for both TV and
high speed internet. Still out and no tech available until Thursday. Tried to
check my Comcast email from work over the internet which I have done many times
before and can't login. Bad password error message. Glad I don't have the
triple play package or I probably wouldn't have a phone either! I am sure this
is all just a co-incidence, yeah right.

This is exactly why, when I lived in Minnesota and, was using Charter
for cable n' Net, I refused to get phone service with them. Now that I
am back in the DC-Metro region, I have cable n' Net with Comcast but
refuse to get phone service with them.
