And for heaven's sake, don't forget to tell the verizon gorillas NOT to
disconnect and remove the wires for your regular dial-up phone service even
if not used ...if you don't tell them, they will rip it out and you're
stuck!!

You just call the regular Comcast number - 1-800-COMCAST (I've got it
memorized I've had to call them so many times).

One of the voice mail choices is to cancel your service.

That's when the fun comes in.  They'll ship you off to the "Customer
Retention Department" - they'll offer you lower rates to get you to stay.  I
got my internet lowered to $24.95 per month for 768K up/384K down - which is
a heck of a lot better than I was getting for the $50 / month "high speed"
nonsense.  

They'll also offer you something for your TV too in hopes of keeping you.

Have fun with it!  :-)  Let us know what they offer...
