someone shun opportunities because success might end up costing them $5
or $10?

My understanding is that most of the problems occur with virtual

For basic home use most off the shelf stuff is just fine. If you want more
options you can do things like flashing some routers ROMS with linux based
programs that allow you a lot more variables. Then

Real firewalls have a few other capabilities (closing ports, eliminating

I was browsing the Dell website for an XPS desktop, and found that all
the XPS machines come with Vista 64-bit OS, whether I select an Intel 2

Do these processors require 64-bit OS to function?

Vista64 offers very good backwards compatibility with 32 bit apps.
Except maybe your old Creative sound card, you shouldn't have to
replace anything.
If they aren't charging a premium for 64 vs. 32, I'd go with 64; it's

I think the issue is...what would you do if your computer totally
crashed. Your built-in backup wouldn't work then. If you want a true

Acronis True Image Home.
Will do backups, clone, copy etc. Very good all around program.
Use it at church to do an incremental backup after having done a full

Check your vendors websites to see about compatibility, 64bit is definately
worth it. I've been running it since SP 1 came out for Vista and have had
zero problems. Course I don't try and run email programs that haven't been
updated in years either.

what I need it to do. I also put one at my moms house to more easily enable
remote access when she needs help.
