I have my machine topped out on RAM- 2GB and it is a three or four year old Athalon based HP. So I don't think so. I'm going to try the Safe mode thng when I get a chance. Which is good news because that means it is fixable. Did you try safe-mode? I just took a look at it. The safe-mode startup also offers a list of things it will reset. It can reset the stuff that is most likely to be causing your problems. That's relatively bizarre, since recent versions of SeaMonkey and Firefox use the same Gecko basis to operate, they can in fact use most of the same extensions with no problem. If all you want is quick loading, I suppose having much of the browser already loaded into memory ala SeaMonkey will speed things up. It's certainly a better choice than Internet Exploder. * == QUICK LIST-COMMAND REFERENCE - Put the following commands in == * == the body of an email send 'em to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] == * Join the list: SUBSCRIBE COMPUTERGUYS-L Your Name * Too much mail? Re: [CGUYS] Google Video problems
I like Sea Monkey and haven't had any real issues with it. It does have a quick launch which could account for some of it's speed over FF. I like the combined mail and browser which is why I use it although there are a few features in FF that I like-say when I want to open twenty tabs at once to read the comics. I use SM more on the PC than the Mac. That's relatively bizarre, since recent versions of SeaMonkey and Firefox use the same Gecko basis to operate, they can in fact use most of the same extensions with no problem. Re: [CGUYS] Google Video problems
I was talking about the speed of launch. FF is lethargic compared even to iTunes which is pretty slow to load on my PC as well. Once it is open they are about the same but the open all in a folder is only FF so far. On 7/7/07, Art Clemons [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I like Sea Monkey and haven't had any real issues with it. Re: [CGUYS] Google Video problems
Has anyone been encountering problems with Google Video? Works for me. Google uses Flash Player. Are you up to date with it? Do other Flash SWFs play for you? I recently upgraded to Flash Player version 9, but you should not need the latest version for Google. I downloaded 9.0, and evidently Mozilla didn't recognize it. Finally I installed Firefox, and voila. Evidently it brought a competent Flash player with it (it brought Flash 9.x). What browser are you using? If it's time to upgrade that, it's worth a try. I will say that Firefox 1.8.x takes forever to load, but some web sites I was having problems with do now load better. I originally had Flash Player 7. I tried upgrading to Flash Player 9 but, it didn't work. A sure sign that you have Flash problems. So now you know what you must do. At 07:25 PM 07/05/2007 -0400, Christopher Range wrote I found to pieces of info on the Net. 1. You have version 7,0,19,0 installed 2. The info below says, ver. 9 should work with Netscape. Windows Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera (and other plugin-based browsers) 9,0,45,0 The trouble I was having was that I had 3 versions of Flash (6, 7 and 9) showing in my Mozilla helper apps. I suspect that the new 9 I installed was not becoming the default. I finally downloaded an uninstaller for supposedly _all_ Flash players, and ran it. I also deleted all .dll's that I could find for Flash. Now, with supposedly NO Flash player installed, Mozilla helper apps were still showing all 3 versions. By this time I was really ready to switch over to Firefox! It was sooo much easier. Other than the long time it takes to open, I really do like Firefox.
