I learned this way from an old egg delivery man. It is my favorite.
Put a few eggs into a sauce pan that has a lid.
Put cold water into the pot to cover the eggs.
Bring the pot to a boil.
Turn the heat off and cover the pot.
Let the eggs stand in the hot water for 20 minutes.
