What are the values for acdirmax, acdirmin, acregmax and acregmin for
the nfs mount?
You might want to re-mount the NFS directory with actimeo=1.

throwing a lot of DNS errors when attempting to deliver to the local domain.
When I try to use the courier testmxlookup tool to test the local domain, it

generated ? do they just increment and or is there a logic to it ? ..
also, is it possible that if enough messages are archived that it will
start to overwrite files ? (like if the filename counter is reset or
