I have no issues with it at all. I have IMAP_ENHANCEDIDLE=1.

"normal" IMAP Client (like Mozilla Thunderbird).

I resolved the problem by renaming the /etc/default/courier file and thus
forcing the courier-Imap to use it's deafult maildir settings.
