While I don't know if I'll be at SXSW this year, but Austin is an easy
enough drive from Dallas that Company|Dallas should be able to represent.

If we expand the idea beyond just comedians to performers and others
in similar profession, then there are some unique needs to be
accomodated - rehearsal spaces, theatres, etc. A friend of mine has
told me about Source and FlashPoint in DC, which are theatres that run
incubators for artistic
Found that earlier. It's on my weekend watching list.

Chris,
Sounds like a cool idea that I'd love to talk more about. From what I
understand, there have been steps which are being taken along those
lines of promoting further connectivity between spaces. Being on here
is one of those steps, as quite a number of space
owners/administrators post
Aaron,
My old college stomping grounds! I'm so glad to hear that fiber
finally went through. I remember there being quite a fight over it.
I've said to a number of people that I know around town that I really
think Lafayette is primed to join in on coworking. I even have a
couple of friends

Nathaniel,
That sounds like a brilliant idea! Not only does it help improve upon
the known flaws/preferences for an existing idea, but it also provides
for a way to help build larger community and provides a way to create
roots in what sounds like a community that's trying to get started.

Jeff,
There's definitely a place for programming and for that matter math in
most of those. As an example, check out poetron:

Oh good. I was thinking the of artsy/character thing as well, but
thought it might seem dismissive to present it. If Tony's going to
suggest it though, I'll definitely back that. The community building
stuff had not crossed my mind though.
Really, to me the whole thing sounds like a great gift
Howdy Lauren,
I'm one of the folks helping to run Company|Dallas over in Richardson,
and I have to say how delighted I am to hear about somebody wanting to
get a coworking spot going over in Fort Worth. I've run into a number
of people from that area who are interested in the idea. Feel free to
So it's been almost two weeks since our launch. Buzz was good, and we
had a great turn out. Since then, everything has pretty well fallen
off. I don't know what I need to do to keep people coming back through
the door. I've been hitting the pavement and getting our name out

Thanks for the thoughts Tony, Daniel, and Alex. I realize this is
probably a pretty common topic to come up around here, and I can
imagine that after a while it can get frustrating. I wasn't entirely
sure whether I should send the email or not, but given coworking's
collaborative and community
and a lot of the business folks out here are really helping spread the
word.

Alex: Definitely. Thanks for calling me out on it. Excuses never get
you anywhere. Hearing from someone how Houston has tackled this
problem would also be great.
Rather than individually, I'm just going to adress the rest as a
coherent message.
Coworking is exceedingly new here in Dallas.
