I got "Server not found" at both URLs.

We changed the DNS entries and by coincidence the server crashed this night.
Should be back.
THanks

Hi,

Just checked, the servers are fine, but the DNS servers seem to be down. I
don’t control them but Alberto does, I’ve cc’ed him.

Bye,

Ok, got it, I assumed that there was a “official” backpan mirror somewhere.

On top of our CPAN local mirror, I’m also rsync’ing
backpan.cpantesters.org::BACKPAN into it.

If I find other rsync backpan’s, I’ll add them in.

Bye,

I don’t think that’s how backpan is supposed to work. It’s not much of a backup
if you trust another “backup” to not lose data, if that makes sense.

(We have a backpan at backpan.perl.org, but I don’t think it has rsync enabled).

Mirror update - cpan.perl.pt

2019-03-05 Thread Pedro Melo
Hi,

We needed to move servers and I took the opportunity to update the CPAN mirror
at perl.pt. Both URLs are live now:

* https://cpan.perl.pt
* https://backpan.perl.pt

Please note that they are now at HTTPS only, and I wanted to know if this is a
problem or not. We can make them available also with HTTP, but we would prefer
to be HTTPS only. There is a HTTP-to-HTTPS redirect in place.

We also switched to iim software to keep our CPAN mirror up-to-date. So far so
good.

Regarding backpan, we currently use...

rsync --exclude CHECKSUMS -rptgx /dst/cpan/authors/id
/dst/backpan/authors/id

… every couple of hours to sync our CPAN mirror to backpan, but we would like
to mirror backpan once a week from a master repo with —delete. Any
recommendation on which backpan mirror to use?

Thank you in advance,
