Again it gets back to the issue that those Americans who want one nation
under God had better find another nation...Canada maybe.

But first they have to know what a nation under God would be like. Now
Canada, by Constitution is founded upon principles that recognize the
supremacy of God. BC Judge FE Howard reviewed judicial precedents and
concluded that the judges of Canada define the supremacy of God as one's
highest ideals or standards. Thus in Canada we have the LIBERTY to invoke
our Godly Principles as we choose and I cannot see the kind of snafu
below happening here. If anyone invokes their understanding of Bible
teaching and it comes in conflict with a law of the land that is another
matter. Thus I think a Canadian court could only react this way by finding
a specific law which conflicts with the jurors' decision-making.

But more broadly, there is the matter of one nation under God. What
would it be like? Christian missionaries can describe hundreds of pagan
cultures. What is their description of a Godly Culture? If they don't
know, how can they move a pagan culture in that direction?

Valerie Pringle may wish to consider this for Vision TV. Don Boudria, MP
wrote to say that we should ask the experts in the clergy (like Rev.
Blaikie, MP?) what a Canada designed according to these Godly Principles
would be like. So ask, Valerie. Ask in a way to make the faith-works
connection concrete as well as abstract/spiritual. What would a city for
say 100,000 plus surroundings be like if designed by experts in
Godliness? Do they know or are they just a bunch of prattling
ideologues?

Death Sentence Tossed Over Bible Reading
By JENNIFER HAMILTON, Associated Press Writer

BRIGHTON, Colo. - A judge threw out a convicted killer's death sentence Friday,
saying the jury improperly relied on the Bible to reach its decision.

Judge John Vigil ordered a new sentencing hearing for Robert Harlan, who was
convicted in 1995 of kidnapping, raping and murdering Rhonda Maloney, 25. He also
shot a passer-by who tried to help, leaving her paralyzed.

If any case merits the death penalty, there cannot be serious debate about this
case being that case, Vigil wrote. The death penalty, however, must be imposed in
a constitutional manner ... Jury resort to biblical code has no place in a
 constitutional death penalty proceeding.

Defense attorneys had argued the use of religious works during jury deliberations is
improper because the works are not Colorado law. Prosecutors said the use of
biblical passages could not have influenced the verdict.

Vigil said the sequestered jury read and discussed biblical passages on punishment
in the deliberation room for the purpose of guiding and directing certain jurors to
 a particular verdict.

The jurors' reliance on the specific biblical passages cannot be considered
 benign, he wrote.

Vigil referred to juror Lana Eaton-Ochoa, who read and wrote down the citation to
Romans 13:1, which says let every soul be subject to the governing authorities for
there is no authority except from God.

This and other passages the jurors considered do more than simply encourage jurors
to follow the instructions of the court. The passages mandate that death be the
 penalty for murder, he said.

Eaton-Ochoa testified that she reads the Bible for comfort and wisdom.

The judge criticized court officials for failing to make sure jurors were not
exposed to outside influences. The jury supervision performed in this case was
extremely negligent and appallingly lax, he wrote.

Here Judge Vigil says that Biblical code has no place in a Constitutional
proceeding. Americans need to realize that the Constitution is being used as a
weapon against Christianity and the Bible. The document our Founding Fathers wrote
to protect our liberties is being used to take those liberties away. The answer to

[CTRL] Government Is A Pagan Cult - And We've All Been Drinking The Kool-Aid

2003-05-27 Thread William Shannon

Government is a Pagan Cult: And Weve All Been Drinking The Kool Aid
By Humberto Nunez

Government is a pagan cult. When you join the Armed Forces, the first thing they do is shave your head. Just like in many cults, where they shave your head. The Army also uses sleep deprivation in Boot Camp, just like many cults do, to brainwash their people.

Secret Service Agents are willing to die for their beliefs (in defense of The President: their cult leader).

Many men say that they would die for their country. This is a form of pagan Martyrdom for the pagan cult State.

Many today say that religion has caused more war and blah blah blah.

But the fact is that governments send out draft cards, not churches. Governments started WWI and WWII, not religion. In fact, during times of peace governments hate religion because religion is the governments #1 competition for allegiance, and during times of war, governments use religion for their own agenda.

Another similarity to cults: FBI Agents even dress similar to Mormons, and have the same type of haircuts. Many cults have a dress code of some kind, just like in the Army, and even in the Corporate world.

When you join the Moonies you would probably end up selling flowers for them, and the Moonies will keep all the profits from the work you do. When you work today, the pagan cult State takes your profits (in the form of income taxes), and they wont let you leave their cult (the State). If you attempt to not pay your taxes, you would be arrested and branded a criminal.

Now, I did a little research into the symptoms and signs of a cult and found these 5 Warning Signs: (to distinguish a cult from a normal religion)

1. The organization is willing to place itself above the law; this is probably the most important characteristic.
2. The leadership dictates, (rather than suggests) important personal (as opposed to spiritual) details of followers lives, such as whom to marry, what to study in college, etc.
3. The leader sets forth ethical guidelines members must follow but from which the leader is exempt.
4. The group is preparing to fight a literal, physical Armageddon against other human beings.
5. The leader regularly makes public assertions that he or she knows is false and/or the group has a policy of routinely deceiving outsiders.

Now, lets break these down one by one.

1. The organization is willing to place itself above the law; this is probably the most important characteristic.

Example: Death Penalty.

What is the purpose and intention behind State sponsored Death Penalty?

The primary purpose and intention behind State sponsored Death Penalty is not to deter crime, nor is it to be tough on crime.

To understand the purpose and intent behind this, we must study psychology, in particular, behavioral psychology; like in training a dog. To train a dog, one must use behavioral modification techniques. For example, the primary purpose and intention behind anti-smoking laws is to get you to obey the State. Before you can train a dog to kill, you must first train the dog to obey simple commands; like sit, and roll over. The same is true of recycling laws. Glass bottles are actually much safer for the environment than plastic bottles. The primary purpose and intention behind recycling laws is not to save the environment, it is a behavioral modification technique to get the people to obey the Government.

Now, back to State sponsored death penalty laws.

The primary purpose and intention behind Death Penalty laws is to get people used to the idea that the State is above the law. It is illegal for people to kill and to murder. With State sponsored Death Penalty laws, the State is Above the Law.

There you have symptom #1:

1. The organization is willing to place itself above the law; this is probably the most important characteristic.

2. The leadership dictates, (rather than suggests) important personal (as opposed to spiritual) details of followers lives, such as whom to marry, what to study in college, etc.

I can give a dozen examples of this behavioral modification ploy of cults. Recycling and anti-smoking laws were two examples I explained above. Dictating the behavior of Americans today is pervasive throughout our entire society.

3. The leader sets forth ethical guidelines members must follow but from which the leader is exempt.

We can see this today very clearly when it comes to violence. Many Americans today are forced to attend Anger Management Courses while at the same time the State uses violence (like in the Iraq War).

4. The group is preparing to fight a literal, physical Armageddon against other human beings.

Three words: War on Terrorism

5. The leader regularly makes public assertions that he or she knows is false and/or the group has a policy of routinely deceiving outsiders.

I dont think that last symptom (of a cult) needs further explanation.

Well there you have it; the

[CTRL] No Logs Network

2003-05-27 Thread Joshua Tinnin
-Caveat Lector-

http://www.mondumo.com/nologs/

http://www.mondumo.com/nologs/faq.php

FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
The NO LOGS NETWORK is composed of web sites,
web hosting providers and systems administrators who have pledged to a
particular web site log retention policy. We recognize that each individual
administrator may have their own reasons for doing so. Our own reasons for
organizing this program are outlined below:
General Information
Why is log retention an issue?
"The usage logs generated by web servers contain much data
that is useful for site owners, but the current default configurations can pose
a threat to the privacy of individuals, and may also present a legal risk to
corporations. Specifically, the IP addresses collected by web servers are
becoming increasingly easy to associate with the identity of particular
individuals."-- from the announcement of the Usage
Log Data Management Working Group at CFP2003
Our own stand on minimizing log retention (and starting this network) rests
on two particular ideas:

That no true freedom of speech exists without the freedom of
speaking anonymously. In particular, speech that is politically
volatile, ideas that are politically unpopular, and information that is
upsetting to some leads aggrieved parties to identify and attack the speaker.
The right to anonymous speech has a long and colorful history in
democratic societies, in particular the United States of America. There is no
reason why this right should not extend to users of the Internet.

That no true freedom of information exists without anonymous
access to information. We do not recognize or accept the idea of thought
crime - what you read, and what you think, are your business.

Nevertheless, we understand that individual network members (see directory for current list) can
have many reasons for implementing their own log retention policy. Their
membership in this network should in no way imply their acceptance of or
agreement with our own reasoning. Please consult with each member web site
individually for their policies and goals regarding their membership here.
Quite a few resources are emerging for those interested in this subject. Some
are listed below - for others, we recommend that you consult the Resources category of the no://log.
The default practice of long-term log retention gives those who would
tread on those rights an easy tool for identifying and harrassing individuals.
Even with respect to non-political speech and the dissemination of information,
however harmless, there are those who consistently tread on individual privacy.
Tyrannical governments and overzealous marketers are the first that come to
mind. We're sure there are others. We seek to educate systems administrators and
the public alike, about the dangers this practice poses to individual freedom
and privacy.
A must-read: EPIC's Data Retention
information page.
What about web site operators' property rights, malicious users, or the need
to identify users for the purpose of defense?
We fully recognize web site operators' right to defend their property, ISP's
right to defend their hardware and networks, and so on. But identifying and
dealing with one particular IP address or group of IP addresses is in no way
related to long-term retention of those addresses. In most cases during an
attack, even a few minutes later, the logging of an IP address is no longer
useful. Scripting and the http protocol itself gives an operator easy access to
a visitor's IP address as it is - certainly defensive measures can be put in
place that identify a particular visitor without long-term storage of all
visitors' data.
What about my statistics reports? I need those!
Great! Run your statistics programs more often, make sure your reports don't
contain identifying information of particular users, and then once you've
obtained the report, discard the logs!
I'm just a web site visitor. What does this mean for me?
If you've reached this page via a NO LOGS button link, then you know
that the administrator of that web site has at least thought about these issues.
Ultimately, we cannot guarantee that a web site operator follows the practices
they've pledged to follow. We cannot verify their compliance with their pledge.
We think their linking to our web site at least signifies that they are aware of
these issues.
How do I get involved?
If you're a web site operator or hosting provider, we encourage you to figure
out how to stop logging IP addresses, at least, then sign the pledge and get your
button!
If you're an end-user or aren't in a position to change logging practices
yourself, we recommend you look at our Tools page for a method to
e-mail your friends about us. Financial help is also sorely needed, to help
defray the costs of maintaining this program - find a Paypal payment box at the
bottom of each page.

Russ Kick, pub-editor of the Memory Hole [EMAIL PROTECTED]

http://www.thememoryhole.org/phoenix/

Created by the CIA in Saigon in 1967, Phoenix was a program aimed at
neutralizing--through assassination, kidnapping, and systematic
torture--the civilian infrastructure that supported the Viet Cong
insurgency in South Vietnam. It was a terrifying final solution
that violated the Geneva Conventions and traditional American ideas
of human morality.

The CIA destroyed its copies of the documents related to this
program, but the creator of Phoenix gave his personal copies to
author Douglas Valentine. He, in turn, has given them to The Memory
Hole. They have never previously been published, online or in print.

These extremely rare and revealing documents are being posted at The
Memory Hole, a Website dedicated to rescuing knowledge and freeing
information. The site's publisher and editor, Russ Kick, says: I had
worked with Doug before, and I knew that he had lots of documents on
Phoenix, one of the CIA's most controversial and hushed-up programs.
When I asked if I could post them, he immediately agreed. He was even
kind enough to write introductions to each document and to Phoenix in
general especially for the site.

Kick continues: This is exactly the type of material I had in mind
when I created The Memory Hole last July. The mainstream media is
terrified of this story and won't touch it with a 10-foot pole. I
think it was during a segment on Senator Bob Kerrey that '60 Minutes'
made a hit-and-run reference to Phoenix, saying something like, 'The
full story of this program has yet to be told.' Then the narration
went on to other things. That was it--one or two sentences, and I'm
yelling at the TV: 'Then why don't you tell the whole story?' The
primary documents are available. A lot of the people involved are
still alive. Several books about it have been written (of course,
they've been published by independent publishers). This is obviously
something that frightens the media, and the CIA has tried to erase it
by destroying the documents. What better subject for The Memory
Hole?

Currently, the site contains fourteen multi-page documents, and more
will be posted in the coming months.

Beast of the Year 2003
Donald Redrum Rumsfeld

The votes are in, and The Konformist readers have spoken.
Donald Redrum Rumsfeld is your choice for the 2003 Beast of the
Year - a choice that is well deserved.

In his victory over runner-up John Ashcroft, Redrum seemed to answer
the big debate going on among Konformist readers: just what is the
kreepiest thing about the Shrub junta, its contempt for International
law and buildup of militant warmongering, or its contempt for basic
Constitutional rights and attack on civil liberties? (Indeed, it is
because of their involvement in the rising American police state and
the rising military death machine that Rummy and Ashcroft shared a
piece of the 2002 Beast of the Year prize.) In this case, Konformist
readers worldwide chose to vote globally rather than locally: while
the assault on American values led by Ashcroft and co. is a dangerous
imitation of the Nazi's internal actions in 1930s Germany, the
unauthorized attack on Iraqi sovereignty and its people, even when
faced with the opposition of fellow imperialist governments Russia,
France, Germany and China, reflects an even more disturbing
impersonation of the leadup to both World Wars. The potential
downside to Redrum's psychopathic glee (underscored by the joy he
shows in saying the word Kill) is even more devastating than the
crusade by Ashcroft and his cohorts to link the word Patriot to
suppression of dissent.

This year, the Beast of the Year party on Beast Island was hosted by
Osama bin Laden (who replaced Mark Wahlberg of Temptation Island,
this year a nominee due to his involvement in the Reality Television
From Hell fad.) Silence, you debauched infidels! Osama declared,
apparently still hurting from his embarrassing snub in 2002 for any
BOTY medals. At his side was the 2003 Beast Island Security Chief
Silvio Berlusconi, who replaced Rudy G for his wonderful treatment of
G8 protestors in Italy during July 2001. When the victory was
announced, Redrum smiled and took the Beast Trophy, with a grin
echoing his joy of torturing Afghanistan and Iraqi soldiers. Rummy
gloated, This is two trophies in a row! Then, staring at his bosses
George Dubya and Donkey Dick (who were there for their involvement in
Enrongate, and had previously shared part of the last two prizes for
swindling an election and exploiting 9-11 in the worst way possible)
he said with a sneer, I'm going for three a row next year! With
Redrum, anything appears possible, and we suspect even with BOTY solo
status he hasn't peaked in his Beastliness. Stay tuned.

Runner-Up:

John Ashcroft
In the unlikely event that Rummy can no longer fill his duties as
Beast of the Year (such as doing something shockingly decent), John
Ashcroft is ready to take over the crown. Rest assured the BOTY
trophy is in good hands either way, as John Boy has been a prime
beast himself. Indeed, he had taken his share of The Konformist 2002
Beast of the Year last year, and barely lost to Redrum in voting this
year. This should be no surprise: having led the greatest attack on
the US Constitution of any Attorney General in history, he has been a
menace to basic American values since taking office in 2001. And
while on the surface this is merely a local issue (although
in local it refers to the most powerful nation in the world, and
home of The Konformist editorial staff) the fact that the ideals
espoused by men such as Thomas Jefferson and Tom Paine are
revolutionary values cherished worldwide by any true rebels, his
attack has worldwide implications as a potential shaper of things to
come.

The Bronze:

Ann Coulter
If, on the unlikely event that both the Redrum and Aschroft can't
fill their duties, Ann Coulter will no doubt do the job well. After
all, with her deranged books and columns, she's basically doing their
dirty work for them already.

In any case, we salute you all, Rummy, Aschcroft and Ann Coulter.
Congratulations, and keep up the great work!!!

US plans death camp

26may03THE US has floated plans to turn Guantanamo Bay into a death camp, with its own death row and execution chamber. Prisoners would be tried, convicted and executed without leaving its boundaries, without a jury and without right of appeal, The Mail on Sunday newspaper reported yesterday. The plans were revealed by Major-General Geoffrey Miller, who is in charge of 680 suspects from 43 countries, including two Australians. The suspects have been held at Camp Delta on Cuba without charge for 18 months. General Miller said building a death row was one plan. Another was to have a permanent jail, with possibly an execution chamber. The Mail on Sunday reported the move is seen as logical by the US, which has been attacked worldwide for breaching the Geneva Convention on prisoners of war since it established the camp at a naval base to hold alleged terrorists from Afghanistan. But it has horrified human rights groups and lawyers representing detainees. They see it as the clearest indication America has no intention of falling in line with internationally recognised justice. The US has already said detainees would be tried by tribunals, without juries or appeals to a higher court. Detainees will be allowed only US lawyers.

-Caveat Lector-

Every day I go to my email. I
look for return addresses of those very few people to whom I send items.
Noone is there. Every day I get tons of email from the few sites
that I look at: a conspiracy site that posts much antisemitic material from many
different source, despite their disclaimer that they are not antisemitic,
a leftist Jewish site that seems caught between supporting Israel because it is
Jewish and attacking it from the left, and a site that "studies" historical
antisemitism but deals with little that is happening today. Heck, I can
find under a hundered sends in one day coming from those three sites
alone. However none of them really have any relationship to me as an
individual. All three want to "whoop me on the head" with all of their
"research."

On my favorites list I have
other sites I look at regularly. Some are Jewish conservative, some Jewish
leftists, some are regular secular, some
arenon-religiousconservative, some claim to be straight news sites,
somethink of themselves as"informative". I've chased down chat rooms and bulletin
boards. All of them have their own slant on what is happening and
heaven help one who doesn't follow their line of thinking.

Do any of you trust another who
differs from your approved point of view? Are we so far distanced from one
another than no exchanges are possible? Are the things I send so far away
from what you are interested in that you see no relation to your everyday
life? I really am stymied. I won't stop sending things, but know
that I am just a person who is sending things out that I think will affect your
future. If you are waiting to see if ten other people send you the same
thing, good luck. If you don't understand why I am sending things, contact
me. If you just want to see yourself validated with email, there are other
places that will send you tons of email with no note like this. I'm not
part of any mass mailing program. I chose each of you as persons who have
open minds and worry about the future If I'm wrong, let me
know.
