Response to HAARP document At Preston Nichols' suggestion, I emailed The Navy with a request for a comment on the text of the faxed document regarding a major blowout in a recent HAARP operation involving particle accelerators, resulting in the creation of an interdimensional/time rift. (A full verbatim reprint of the document was included.) As I pointed out in my recent article on HAARP, there was one obvious discrepancy in the faxed document concerning the zip code--it correlated to Fort Myers and not Washington D.C. as the document stated; however at 1455 Overlook Ave., in Fort Myers is a vast multi governmental complex which houses, among other things, National Security Agency offices. Interestingly enough at 4555 Overlook Ave. (SW) in Washington D.C. is the Naval Research Laboratory, a large facility with a staff of over 4000 people, which is in fact the headquarters of the Navy's HAARP operations. The discrepancy regarding the address as well as the April 1 date on the document could provide ample wiggle room for those involved or knowledgeable to discredit the document. However in a rare public display of agitation, foolishness, confusion or ineptness, a Pentagon spokesman today issued a statement commenting on the HAARP document in question; a response notable indeed for being a complete, total and what's more, unnecessary lie. Rather than addressing any of the points I raised in my request, nor any of the elements of the faxed document, even the potentially questionable ones, a Navy spokesman chose instead to attempt to completely discredit the document (and myself) and derail any serious inquiry by making a reply which is in one instance at least blatantly and demonstrably untrue. In an email to me dated 5/4/98 1:53:27 PM, Alan Goldstein, Director of Technology Integration at the Navy Office of Information, The Pentagon - Washington, D.C. wrote: " ...There is not any Admiral Falvey nor is there any Overlook Avenue in Washington, D.C". As shown, this statement is a total, complete and utter lie. As a Naval employee at the Pentagon, I find it impossible to believe that he is not aware of the fact that at 4555 Overlook Ave. SW in Washington D.C. is the Naval Research Lab, the official home of HAARP operations. Busted! The facts speak for themselves. Perhaps this blatant lie was intended by it's blatancy to show indicate that the HAARP document is essentially valid; more likely it's an indication of a hasty, off-balance response to an issue which would seem to have caused some concern. Firstly, if the document and my letter were just childish gibberish, why bother to respond at all? And if responding, and if the faxed HAARP document is unquestionably worthless nonsense, why not prove or indicate it as such with solid, valid statements? Instead, (to seriously mix my metaphors), they go off totally half-cocked, shooting from the hip and end up putting their foot firmly and deeply in their big mouth. Give them a little rope and what do you know--they really hang themselves on this one! It is fair to say that to some extent such a blatant, almost absurd lie of this magnitude from a Pentagon official on the HAARP document can ONLY be seen as bolstering by default the validity of the document in question. Interesting as well is that this individual seems to imply that my invoking the U.S. Constitution amounted to more "childish gibberish". I guess we know which "side" he's on, and it isn't OURS! I include below my request to the Navy for a comment on the HAARP fax, the Navy's repsonse, and my reply to their lie. Additionally, according to the recipient, the document was produced using a version of Adobe PageMaker which is only available to government. It was NOT produced using the commercially available version of this software. Granted a skilled and knowledgeable hoaxer could conceivably have enough knowledge of internal military security codes, routing information, internal directives and classified projects to fake the main body of this document. Obviously there are oceanic and atmospheric conditions which lead to the development of the fabled "El Nino" which very much impacts our experienced weather; my point is that this provides the perfect cover for HAARP operators to activate their new toy, and of course to amplify or boost the effects of El Nino as well, with the usual malevolent intent. Call it "El HAARPO". The deadly "tornados" which have left scores of people dead and absolutely obliterated sections of sections of the southeastern U.S. and even areas such as Minnesota this spring were, as far as can be determined, completely unprecedented--literally unheard of, in recorded human experience. What is so inexplicable and unilaterally astonishing about these "storms", aside from their mind-boggling ferocity, is the fact that in many cases few if any of the typical atmospheric precursor conditions--like CLOUDS-- conducive to the development of such storms were present, as indicated by virtually all relevant weather monitoring and forecasting technologies and systems. WHOSE THOUGHT WAS THAT? Another major agenda of HAARP's is of course mind control. I have had strong suspicions that the Jonesboro, Arkansas massacre and a number of very similar incidents over the past months have been the result of mind control operations. The recent news on the nearly inconceivable horror out of Jonesboro has finally pushed me over the brink; into confronting head-on the likelihood that this and a veritable blood orgy of similar mass murders by youngsters in the past couple of years--mostly but not only in the southeastern U.S--are the result of some sort of mind control program. Despite a fairly rigorous childhood and teenagehood in New York City and Long Island, and many years since spent in other major urban areas like L.A. and the Bay Area, I must say I really cannot recall any precedent for these types of mass slayings perpetrated by young teens and preteens, against their peers or elders, often carried out at (usually public) schools. What in the name of God or any standard/concept of a more evolved, civilized and positive existence and being: what in the name of any decency, reason, compassion, or awareness could be motivating or compelling these young people to manifest such remorseless, shameless and vicious violence in acts of mass murder? And notice also that this is not happening in New York, L.A., Chicago or other large cities, where gang violence has been so prevalent. Its happening in quiet, totally "typical", rural/suburban Middle American communities, among mainly white, middle class people. I think programming is on the scene here in a most major way. There has been some solid information which supports this hypothesis lately. The Roman Emperor Vespasian, we are told, put a tax on the use of the public toilets, and his son Titus objected. The money, Titus said, is dirty; it smells. Vespasian had the treasurer go to the storehouse and bring back some coins, which had been washed on their receipt. He held them out to his son and declared: "Non olet." It doesn't smell. If you had to choose a banner to hang outside the big banks of the world, that would be the legend woven into its warp and woof: Non olet. Our customers bring us money. Money is fungible. By the time we see it, it doesn't smell. But the truth is that some money stinks. It comes from peddling drugs, or collecting ransom for the kidnapped, or selling worthless debentures to old folks in the lobby of Lincoln Savings amp; Loan. Or stealing from the Russian state--a matter that drew the attention of the House Banking Committee this week. Russian thieves can be sure of keeping the money only if they can get it out of the country, and for that they need a bank account abroad, denominated in a foreign currency. For Russians, the easiest way to own a bank account abroad is to own a bank in Russia or have friends who owned a bank in Russia. Their bank can then establish "correspondent" relations with, say, the Bank of New York, which has gone after Russian business. Money can then be transferred on the books of the Bank of New York from the Russian bank's correspondent account to an account of some shell company the thieves invented to conceal their ownership. Thus washed, the money is as odorless as Vespasian's coins. And there's not much the Bank of New York can do about it, claims CEO Thomas A. Renyi. "Satisfying ourselves as to the creditworthiness and business-worthiness of any correspondent bank does not give us any knowledge as to the identity or activities of their customers," he told the Banking Committee. He estimated that 30% of the $4 trillion of dollar-denominated payments made through banks every day moved by "book transfer" within banks that kept deposits with each other for that purpose. The money doesn't have to be sent to Antigua, Guernsey, Gibraltar, Cyprus, Belgium or Luxembourg, where the strongest bank-secrecy laws make it impossible to find out even the names of the shell companies. It can be washed first in a "payable through" account inside the American bank. New regulations wouldn't help, Mr. Renyi suggested. "Heightened domestic surveillance in any one country may simply drive would-be wrongdoers to less stringent points of entry into the system." Banking begins, more than half a millennium ago, with correspondent relations. The Medicis, the Fuggers, the Rothschilds and the Morgans built their businesses on the security and competence of their correspondents. In the modern world, more open arrangements took over as clearinghouses were formed to permit participants to net their payments and deliveries. Because these arrangements gave each participant the guarantee of all the members of the clearing house (and often the government, too), banks became much less careful in vetting the reputation of the other banks with which they did business. Recent years have seen a new growth of bank-to-bank transactions that do not pass through the clearinghouses. The most obvious example is the $70 trillion dollar over-the-counter derivatives market, which is entirely bilateral and hidden. Participants pretend to do abstruse mathematical analyses of the risks and rewards of these instruments, but in the absence of a clearinghouse that maintains records of the "open interest"--the number of similar contracts to be settled--no intelligent estimate of probabilities is in fact possible. Banking regulators, seeking to fence off failures that might infect multilateral clearinghouses, have encouraged bilateral netting between banks in their correspondent accounts with each other. The result is a new systemic instability, as the big banks suddenly discover, say, that Long-Term Capital Management is in hock to all of them individually--and that the total money owed under the thousands of private forward foreign exchange contracts by which they and their hedge-fund clients sought to protect their holdings of ruble-denominated instruments has grown so great that the contracts can't possibly be honored. Other derivatives contracts have become convenient ways to launder money. At a conference of derivatives traders in London two weeks ago, where I gave a talk, several dealers complained that nobody was policing the flow of money on the derivatives chassis from Russia, Romania and Bulgaria. Kennedy and that she delivered messages from him to Chicago Mafia boss Sam Giancana, has died of breast cancer. She was 65. A spokesman for City of Hope Cancer Center in the Los Angeles suburb of Duarte said Saturday that Exner died there just before midnight local time Friday after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. In her autobiography, ``My Story,'' Exner detailed what she said was a nearly two-year affair with the president. After divorcing her husband, actor William Campbell, Exner in the late 1950s dated Frank Sinatra, who she said introduced her to Kennedy after a Las Vegas concert and later to Giancana. Exner claimed that among the messages she carried to Giancana from President Kennedy were details of a plot to kill Cuban leader Fidel Castro. In a 1998 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Exner said she made 10 or 12 courier trips from Kennedy to Giancana and set up a couple of meetings. She said it did not occur to her to ask questions -- ``JFK was the leader of the Free World. Castro was the archvillain of the Western Hemisphere, and Sam, so JFK told her, was 'working for us.''' She said that early in 1963 she became pregnant by Kennedy and he asked that Giancana arrange an abortion. How is it, with their weak banking systems, the lack of transparency and their lack of accounting standards the emerging countries of Southeast Asia, for decades, managed really extraordinary rates of growth - 6,7 or even 8 percent a year? The Spanish Plata Fleet wrecked directly off the coast in 1715 spewing tons of silver and gold coins that still wash ashore to this very day. Jupiter Island's first recorded history was as part of the Gomez Grant. This was a land grant from the King of Spain to Eusebio Gomez in 1815, as a reward for faithful service and includes not only Jupiter Island but almost all of what is now mainland Hobe Sound. The land was divided and redivided among the Gomez heirs and others and much of it was sold in the early 1900s to a British land development company that went bankrupt in the late 1920s. The extensive land holdings of the corporation were acquired by a group of friends who enjoyed staying at a small Island hotel with the idea of conserving the natural beauty of the Island and this has been the aim of the original owners, their heirs and others who have purchased land and built homes here. In fact, much of the Island has been given to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Audubon Society and the Nature Conservancy for wildlife refuges and preservation of the natural ecology. Jupiter Island was incorporated as a town in 1953 and enacted strict low density zoning which has preserved its natural beauty probably better than any other populated barrier island in existence. One and two acre zoning is the norm for single family residential homes and no high rises or multiple family dwellings are allowed. The town has its own government including mayor, commissioners, a fire department and police force with probably the highest ratio of police to residents in the United States. There are currently four hundred and fifty homes on Jupiter Island. Homeopathy: The Ultimate Fake Stephen Barrett, M.D. Homeopathic "remedies" enjoy a unique status in the health marketplace: They are the only category of quack products legally marketable as drugs. This situation is the result of two circumstances. First, the 1938 Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, which was shepherded through Congress by a homeopathic physician who was a senator, recognizes as drugs all substances included in the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States. Second, the FDA has not held homeopathic products to the same standards as other drugs. Today they are marketed in health-food stores, in pharmacies, in practitioner offices, by multilevel distributors [A], through the mail, and on the Internet. Basic Misbeliefs Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), a German physician, began formulating homeopathy's basic principles in the late 1700s. Hahnemann was justifiably distressed about bloodletting, leeching, purging, and other medical procedures of his day that did far more harm than good. Thinking that these treatments were intended to "balance the body's 'humors' by opposite effects," he developed his "law of similars" -- a notion that symptoms of disease can be cured by extremely small amounts of substances that produce similar symptoms in healthy people when administered in large amounts. The word "homeopathy" is derived from the Greek words homoios (similar) and pathos (suffering or disease). Hahnemann and his early followers conducted "provings" in which they administered herbs, minerals, and other substances to healthy people, including themselves, and kept detailed records of what they observed. Later these records were compiled into lengthy reference books called materia medica, which are used to match a patient's symptoms with a "corresponding" drug. Hahnemann declared that diseases represent a disturbance in the body's ability to heal itself and that only a small stimulus is needed to begin the healing process. He also claimed that chronic diseases were manifestations of a suppressed itch (psora), a kind of miasma or evil sprit. At first he used small doses of accepted medications. But later he used enormous dilutions and theorized that the smaller the dose, the more powerful the effect -- a notion commonly referred to as the "law of infinitesimals." That, of course, is just the opposite of the dose-response relationship that pharmacologists have demonstrated. The basis for inclusion in the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia is not modern scientific testing, but homeopathic "provings" conducted during the 1800s and early 1900s. The current (ninth) edition describes how more than a thousand substances are prepared for homeopathic use. It does not identify the symptoms or diseases for which homeopathic products should be used; that is decided by the practitioner (or manufacturer). The fact that substances listed in the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia are legally recognized as "drugs" does not mean that either the law or the FDA recognizes them as effective. Because homeopathic remedies were actually less dangerous than those of nineteenth-century medical orthodoxy, many medical practitioners began using them. At the turn of the twentieth century, homeopathy had about 14,000 practitioners and 22 schools in the United States. But as medical science and medical education advanced, homeopathy declined sharply in America, where its schools either closed or converted to modern methods. The last pure homeopathic school in this country closed during the 1920s [1]. Many homeopaths maintain that certain people have a special affinity to a particular remedy (their "constitutional remedy") and will respond to it for a variety of ailments. Such remedies can be prescribed according to the person's "constitutional type" -- named after the corresponding remedy in a manner resembling astrologic typing. The "Ignatia Type," for example, is said to be nervous and often tearful, and to dislike tobacco smoke. The typical "Pulsatilla" is a young woman, with blond or light-brown hair, blue eyes, and a delicate complexion, who is gentle, fearful, romantic, emotional, and friendly but shy. The "Nux Vomica Type" is said to be aggressive, bellicose, ambitious, and hyperactive. The "Sulfur Type" likes to be independent. And so on. Does this sound to you like a rational basis for diagnosis and treatment? The "Remedies" Are Placebos Homeopathic products are made from minerals, botanical substances, and several other sources. If the original substance is soluble, one part is diluted with either nine or ninety-nine parts of distilled water and/or alcohol and shaken vigorously (succussed); if insoluble, it is finely ground and pulverized in similar proportions with powdered lactose (milk sugar). Boyden Gray, who used as his most treasured tool his newly exalted law-altering penthe pen for presidential signing statements. Presidents traditionally influence how Congress shapes bills prior to enactment in many ways: by submitting their own proposals, lobbying Congress during consideration, and making veto threats. However, from 1789 to the 1980s, presidents recognized that after congressional passage the Constitution allowed them only one decision: whether to veto.[1] Edwin Meese suggested the first real alternative: When President Reagan signed a bill he could simultaneously issue a "signing statement," which would declare provisions of the new law unconstitutional. At the time, this novel idea received intense criticism from Congress, the public, and the courts, and it appeared to be a temporary aberration. The strategy of the Bush Administration took this notion and expanded it into an extraordinary tool enabling White House staff to escape the system of checks and balances. A 1990 New York Times profile of Gray, one of the few such profiles before the struggle a year later over the civil rights bill, noted his support of the aggressive use of signing statements: "At the heart of Mr. Gray's public philosophy is his keenness to preserve Presidential prerogatives. Mr. Bush's method of signing bills with appended statements that he will not enforce certain provisions he regards as infringements on his authority is a technique Mr. Gray has championed."[2] TWO LAWYERS FOR THE PRESIDENT: EDWIN MEESE AND C. BOYDEN GRAY Edwin Meese President Reagan began issuing a considerable number of signing statements upon the advice of Edwin Meese III, presidential counselor and later attorney general. For example, he signed a 1984 bill, the Competition in Contracting Act (CICA), which reformed federal procurement, but simultaneously declared key provisions of CICA to be unconstitutional. This was no mere matter of going on record, as in a public speech or message to Congress. Attorney General Meese backed up the president's declaration of CICA's invalidity with elaborate claims in public hearings and court submissions. They gave as the grounds that the president had the same constitutional role as the judiciary does under Marbury v. Madison, namely, that when the Justice Department objected to a law the president should have the power to invalidate the law and direct the government to treat it as a nullity rather than as a law. To implement the president's power, the OMB issued a governmentwide order directing all agencies not to obey the CICA but to "proceed with the procurement process as though no-such-provisions were contained in the act."[3] The CICA statement illustrates the most potent part of the Meese innovation. President Bush's treatment of nine individual items in the 1990 foreign aid authorization was previously mentioned. In an even bigger example he challenged no fewer than eleven provisions of the 1990 defense authorization bill, which amounted almost to a complete overhaul of the parts of the bill he disliked. During the Reagan and Bush administrations, the vastly enlarged defense budget provoked extensive controversy in Congress. President Reagan and Congress had fought over, and resolved, numerous conditions that Congress had placed on expenditures, as it invoked the "power of the purse" in defense matters.[51] Such controversies were as old as the "ship money" dispute during the period of personal rule of Charles I in 1628 to 1640 and as fresh as the congressional cutoffs for spending on the Indochina War in 1974, on Angola in 1978, and on the contras in the 1980s. In these defense bill controversies, President Reagan used his veto threat for influence and President Bush continued to use this classic tool of divided government. The Spanish Plata Fleet wrecked directly off the coast in 1715 spewing tons of silver and gold coins that still wash ashore to this very day. Jupiter Island's first recorded history was as part of the Gomez Grant. This was a land grant from the King of Spain to Eusebio Gomez in 1815, as a reward for faithful service and includes not only Jupiter Island but almost all of what is now mainland Hobe Sound. The land was divided and redivided among the Gomez heirs and others and much of it was sold in the early 1900s to a British land development company that went bankrupt in the late 1920s. The extensive land holdings of the corporation were acquired by a group of friends who enjoyed staying at a small Island hotel with the idea of conserving the natural beauty of the Island and this has been the aim of the original owners, their heirs and others who have purchased land and built homes here. In fact, much of the Island has been given to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Audubon Society and the Nature Conservancy for wildlife refuges and preservation of the natural ecology. Even so, we cannot pin the blame solely on Bill and Hillary. The militarization of U.S. policing has proceeded unchecked through Republican and Democratic administrations alike. Indeed, one of the earliest Waco-like incidents occurred on May 13, 1985, long before Bill Clinton was even a blip on the political radar screen. That day, police emptied 10,000 rounds of ammunition into a house in West Philadelphia, in a ninety-minute period. They fired Uzis, shotguns, M-16s, ..50-caliber machineguns, Browning semiautomatic rifles and M-60 machineguns. A 20mm antitank gun was also on hand, though police claim they never fired it. Later that day, a canvas satchel containing four and a half pounds of C-4 plastic explosive was dropped on the house by helicopter. The ensuing fire consumed not only that house, but sixty others, leaving the neighborhood a smoking ruin. At whom was all this firepower aimed? The targets were four men, three women and six children members of an anti-government, urban survivalist cult called MOVE. Police say the cultists shot first, after lawmen tried to arrest four of them. But Police Commissioner Gregore Sambor inadvertently cast doubt on this claim when he testified that the first shots came from automatic weapons. MOVE had no such weapons only two shotguns, two pistols and one .22-caliber rifle.. In any case, all MOVE members in the house were killed that day, except for one woman and one 13-year-old boy. Back in 1986, I attended the trial of Ramona Africa the lone adult survivor of the MOVE house and wrote a cover story about the massacre for the East Village Eye. In that article, I suggested that the scorched-earth tactics used against MOVE were a trial balloon, designed to test public reaction to a new style of ultra-violent policing. My theory rested partly on the fact that federal agencies had encouraged and facilitated the MOVE massacre behind the scenes. The FBI, for instance, provided C-4, a military explosive forbidden to civilian police. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms provided permission and tax waivers for other military weapons. Most curious, however, were the "reforms enacted in the massacres wake.. Arguing that the slaughter had resulted from random bungling by overzealous cops, Mayor W. Wilson Goode announced a sweeping reorganization supposedly aimed at increasing the professionalism of Philadelphia police. Goodes proposals ranged from the creation of an elite counter-terrorist strike force, to the establishment of unprecedented liaisons with federal law enforcement agencies, to training for police at military facilities, and even to anti-terrorist schools and "crisis management training for city officials by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). In short, Goode called for more of the very same medicine that had caused the problem in the first place: outside meddling from federal goons. Years later, in 1993, federal "crisis management once again made headlines, this time in Waco, Texas. Parallels between the MOVE and Waco massacres read like guidelines drawn from the same tactical handbook. In both cases, last-minute offers to negotiate were ignored by lawmen. In both cases, fires were deliberately allowed to burn out of control. Both at Waco and at the MOVE house, people trying to escape the flames were forced back inside by gunfire. Even more startling, lawmen in both cases claimed that the cultists had set fire to themselves. In the midst of a civil suit brought by MOVE survivors and relatives, Lt. Frank Powell suddenly anounced that the fire had been deliberately set by MOVE members, not by the bomb he dropped. "They chose their own end," Powell told reporters on May 1, 1996. MOVE members had doused the roof with flammable liquid, then torched it, Powell said. His claim which contradicted the findings of the city Fire Marshal and the mayors MOVE Commission evidently did not impress the jury, which awarded Ramona Africa and relatives of two other MOVE victims $1.5 million in damages. If the MOVE bombing really was a trial balloon, it was evidently a successful one. The media accepted the story of bungling, overzealous cops. Public outrage was confined to ineffectual liberal handwringing, much of it centered around the irrelevant fact that the MOVE victims were black. Is Waco another trial balloon? Have the feds upped the ante this time, with a blatant use of Delta Force commandos, a higher body count, and a "whiter list of victims (about half the Waco dead were Anglo, the

The name is probably a corruption of Jobe (Sp., Jupiter), although the Indians called it Hoe Sound. At 39.4 m. is a junction with an improved road. Left on this road to the red brick JUPITER LIGHTHOUSE 0.5 m., first lighted on July 10, 1859. The lighthouse occupies the SITE OF FORT JUPITER, built by early settlers in 1838. Here Thomas Jesup, a commander in the Seminole War, imprisoned 678 Indians and Negroes until they were transported to reservations in the West. The fort was abandoned about 1842, and construction of the light began in 1855. The lighthouse was dark from 1861 to 1865 when all lighthouses along Southern coasts ceased to function at the order of the Confederacy. JUPITER, 39.9 m., (12 alt., 176 pop.), on the south shore of Jupiter Inlet, is a small trading community (fishing guides, boats, tackle). South of Jupiter the highway offers an almost unobstructed view of the ocean for several miles. The spiel was usually enough. When the smiling Conlee locked his steady gaze on suspects and rolled that grisly paperweight in his hands, most were only too eager to confess. Nobody knows that better than a Little Rock handyman called Wayne Dumond, who is preparing to walk out of a Arkansas state penitentiary after serving 14 years for a crime even the judge who sentenced him now admits could never have been committed as the victim described. Along the way, apart from losing his reputation, the sometime lay preacher saw his heartbroken wife succumb to cancer and his home consumed by a petrol bomb. His car was torched and his dogs poisoned. While he was being gang-raped in an Arkansas state penitentiary, his two boys were taken repeatedly from their mother's custody by social service officials and his bank account pillaged by rapacious lawyers. And as Dumond, 48, added as an almost inconsequential aside last week, he also lost his manhood. They were his testicles on Conlee's desk. ``I was not supposed to survive,'' Dumond said the day after he learnt that his 20-year sentence had been commuted. ``From Conlee all the way up to (former Governor) Bill Clinton, the political machine that runs Arkansas wanted me dead. They knew I didn't rape anyone. But this was a girl from a rich, important family. Somebody picked me, a nobody, so that the police could give the people who own this state what they wanted, so that they could pretend justice was done. ``They thought I'd die when Conlee's boys castrated me and left me bleeding to death. And they thought I'd be killed in prison. But I wasn't. I wouldn't give them the satisfaction.'' In the old days, before the civil rights movement dragged the South into the 20th century, lynchings were a revered Dixie tradition. In those bad old days, it was mostly blacks and the occasional Jew who ended up hanging from a tree while lawmen looked the other way. Dumond's story represents a far slicker variety of vigilante justice: a legal lynching by a drug-dealing sheriff whose prime goal, Dumond charges, was a self-interested desire to keep the goodwill of Arkansas' monied elite - including that of an ambitious young governor who would become the president. ``It was politics, pure and simple,'' Dumond said. ``Not law and justice, just low-down, dirty politics. It couldn't have been any other way, not when the victim was Clinton's kin.'' Dumond's story began late in 1984 when 17-year-old Ashley Stevens dropped in at a burger joint on her way home from school to grab a Coke and, as she told detectives, ``to see who my ex-boyfriend was hanging out with''. He wasn't to be found, so the willowy high-school senior continued on home in her brand new BMW. Will they know where you've been? Is Big Brother reading your packets in a similar way that they scan overseas telephone calls? I know this sounds like an introduction to an Art Bell segment. But, it's for real and it's true. You can bet the U.S. government will soon be spending your tax dollars in an attempt to read your e-mail. The government of England has already made it clear that they want more eavesdropping. In the UK there is a new piece of handiwork making an attempt to require all Internet Service Providers to allow the British government tap into their networks. For details, see Home Office's Interception of Communications report. It's not that difficult. Hackers and crackers do it all the time. For those of you who don't know the difference between a hacker and a cracker, a hacker is someone that invents a method to break into something. A cracker is someone that uses the tool or method a hacker created to break into something. The hacker's motivation is similar to that of climbing a mountain. It's there. It requires skill. It's a challenge. Easy to see that there would be more crackers than hackers. The government of England will become a great big cracker. It will pay one or more companies to become its hacker developers. First let's quickly review what the Internet is. Then we can better discuss the logistics of how this will work. As you may know, the Internet is a mesh of interconnected networks. Yes, no one owns the Internet. But, there are people that do in fact own huge chunks of it. MCI has a big one. Sprint has a big one. Cable and Wireless bought a chunk of MCI's to gain a bigger network. Then there is AOL, ATT and many others. Each of these is interconnected to the other physically as well as on paper. The paper part consists of lengthy agreements that allow the transmission of each other's packets through each other's gateways. What's a gateway? A gateway is like a bridge or tunnel that your packet drives over or through as it attempts to reach its destination. The destination is a machine on a network located somewhere on the other side of a gateway. No single network can disconnect from the other for fear of having a customer complain that they can't reach a specific website or send e-mail to their cousin on the competitor's network. If we were to apply some Internet Physics, we would discover the following: here comes a deep thought, ready? Each network depends on the existence of the other, to a degree that is directly proportional to the specific amount of packets that contain a destination on the other competitor's network. This is rarely an equal value at any one gateway. Speaking of gateways, governments will place machines between gateways to eavesdrop on your packets. They know where your packet came from. They know where it's going. The packet tells them this. They can now wait (not much of a wait, really just milliseconds) and watch for the return packets that are destined to be displayed on your screen. How easy is this? It's very easy. Someone is doing it at this moment. More likely someone's robot program. That's how Net crooks snatch a password or a credit card number. They find a machine that is sitting on a freeway of packet traffic. There they eavesdrop on the packets and attempt to find one that isn't scrambled with encryption. Encrypted packets they just toss. What they want is a packet that appears to have that credit card number look. If it has the look, they log it -- that is, they store it for review, test or use at a later date. Most people know that you can prevent your credit card from being packet sniffed. You never

-Caveat Lector- If the U.S. were really serious about enforcing drug interdiction at the borders, they coould/would have years ago.Don't tell me that they didn't have the means to completely keep drugs from entering our country. The point is, there never really was a "war on drugs!" It was just a maneuver set in motion to give the impression to the American public that our so-called caring government gave a damn about drug addiction in our country. In reality they could care less. Just ask the CIA. I mean, where would their funding for covert operations come from if not from their drug dealing/importation in this country? It's a multi-faceted scenario and planning put forth by those who really run the show in this country. They first need drugs to keep a good proportion of the public in a stupor so they won't know or realize what the gov. is really up to; or give a damn for that matter. Secondly the need for all this law enforcement would not be needed, and by relation, the prisons would not be as full. Think of the trickle-down affect if many of the jails were closed, if the court system wasn't bursting at the seams due to drug-related offenses, just how many people would be put out of work? All things considered, this gov. could stop the flow of drugs completely; technology dictates that this task is a simple one. It's all about money,always has been. My God! What would ever become of our DEA? What would all the other inteligence agencies do with all the extra time on their hands? DRUG WAR? Never happened; never will!
