Oakland Seminary Housing Sex Offender Priests 11/28/04 "In all the controversy over child abuse by Catholic priests, one issue really has not been explored. What does the church do with priests who've molested children? Where do they go? The ABC7 I-Team has a disturbing answer for people living in an upscale Oakland neighborhood. The I-Team has learned that one order of priests has decided to place its sex offenders at a seminary in Oakland. And, church officials haven't told the neighbors or the schools nearby. If you attend one of the daily services at St. Albert's seminary in the Rockridge neighborhood, you probably wouldn't expect to be sitting next to several sex offenders. But, that's often the case. Hmong Hunter Charged With 6 Murders Is Said to Be a
  ShamanBy STEPHEN KINZER

  T. PAUL, Nov. 30 - The man charged with murdering six
other hunters and wounding two in Wisconsin last week is a Hmong shaman
who has called on the spirit world in trances that last up to three hours,
  his family and friends say.
The accused, Chai Soua Vang of St. Paul, seeks "the other world" when
he tries to cure sick people or invoke divine protection for those who
request it, said his friend and former hunting companion Ber Xiong.
"He is a special person," Mr. Xiong said. "Chai speaks to the other
side. He asks the spirits there to release people who are suffering on
  earth."
Mr. Xiong said Mr. Vang, a 36-year-old truck driver, was one of about
100 shamans among St. Paul's immigrant community of some 25,000 Hmong from
Laos. He said he had assisted Mr. Vang in several shamanistic ceremonies,
most recently one two years ago at which an extended family asked him to
  assure its health and prosperity.
"He danced on a small table for about two hours," said Mr. Xiong, an
employee of an audio technology business in nearby Bloomington. "He was
calling out the whole time, not to the people in the room, but to the
other world. My job was to sit near the table and make sure he did not
  fall off."
Mr. Xiong declined to identify anyone else who attended that ceremony
or others where Mr. Vang participated. Like Mr. Vang, he is a Hmong
immigrant, and many Hmong who know Mr. Vang have been reluctant to speak
  publicly.
But in a brief interview, Mr. Vang's sister, Mai, confirmed that he was
thought to have mystical powers. "He is a shaman," Ms. Vang said. "But I
don't know how long he has been one."
Cher Xee Vang, a prominent leader among the Hmong in Minnesota, said
the suspect, to whom he is not closely related, had often participated in
  curing ceremonies.
"Chai Vang is a shaman," Cher Xee Vang said. "When we needed him to
cure the ill with traditional ways of healing, he would."
The events that led to the charges against Mr. Vang occurred on Nov. 21
when, the authorities say, he was caught trespassing on private land in
Wisconsin's North Woods, a popular destination for deer hunters in late
November. The eight other hunters were all shot in an ensuing
confrontation with him, the police say.
On Monday, prosecutors formally charged Mr. Vang with six counts of
murder and two counts of attempted murder. On Tuesday, handcuffed and
wearing a prison-issued orange jumpsuit, he was taken to the basement of
the county jail in Hayward, Wis., to hear the charges. Judge Norman L.
Yackel of Sawyer County Circuit Court asked Mr. Vang if he understood
  them.
  "Yes," Mr. Vang responded.
The hearing lasted only eight minutes. Judge Yackel, who cited security
concerns in holding the hearing at the jail rather than at the courthouse
across the street, set the next court date for Dec. 29.
Security has been an issue here in St. Paul as well. With the help of
the police, Mr. Vang's family, evidently concerned about its safety and
weary of the publicity that the case has brought, has moved from its
two-story home on the city's east side to an undisclosed location.
It is unclear whether Mr. Vang's role as a shaman is in any way
connected to the shootings. But Vincent Her, a graduate student at the
University of Wisconsin who studies traditional Hmong culture, said he did
not believe that shamans could go into a trance so deep that they would
lose touch with the physical world, even in a situation of extreme
  stress.
"That would make him or her unable to mediate between the two worlds,
which is the core of the shaman's role," Mr. Her said.
At a news conference in Milwaukee on Sunday, Steven Kohn, one of the
three lawyers representing Mr. Vang, said the defense team was "looking
into all facets in this case as far as defense is concerned."
"That includes factual defenses, and it includes potential mental
health or mental responsibility defenses," Mr. Kohn said. "This certainly
seems not to be a whodunit, but a why."
At the same news conference, Mr. Vang's eldest daughter, Kia, made a
brief statement. "I don't know what my father did," she said. "I'm really
shocked, and I don't know what to say."
According to military records, Mr. Vang spent six years in the
California Army National Guard. He was honorably

Will Democrats steal the
Washington governorship?
Monday, November 29, 2004
12:01 a.m.
The country dodged a repeat
of the 2000 Florida election debacle this year because George W. Bush's
margin in the decisive state of Ohio was 136,000 votes. But the one out
of 50 Americans who live in Washington state are living through a Florida-style
nightmare, with Republican Dino Rossi clinging to a 42-vote lead over Democrat
Christine Gregoire in the governor's race after a machine recount of 2.8
million ballots. In the latest example of why this country needs to clean
up and clarify its sloppy election systems, Douglas firs substitute for
palm trees as the backdrop.
In Seattle's King County alone
the vote counting so far has featured such anomalies as 10,000 ballots
being mysteriously discovered nearly two weeks after Election Day, election
officials "enhancing" hundreds of unreadable optical-scan ballots, and
a judge allowing political partisans to selectively track down voters who
cast questionable provisional ballots to see if they could turn them into
valid votes. Ms. Gregoire gained several hundred votes through such maneuvers,
so she has now declared her intention to pay for a hand recount of some
of the state's precincts to see if she can take the lead. If a selective
recount changes the overall winner, the state would pay for a laborious
hand recount of all the votes The process could drag on past Christmas
and might eventually have to be settled by the state Supreme Court. Gov.
Gary Locke is scheduled to leave office on Jan. 12, but wags are already
joking he shouldn't be pack his bags too soon.

The trouble began when it became
clear the race was so close it wouldn't be settled by the ballots counted
on election night. Washington allows absentee ballots--used by 70% of the
voters this year--to be counted as long as they are postmarked by Election
Day. Thus everyone knew that the way late absentee and provisional votes
(cast by people not on the registration rolls, and subject to later verification)
were counted might wind up swinging the election.
That set off a legal fracas
over the 929 people in heavily Democratic King County whose provisional
ballots hadn't been counted because of mismatched
or missing signatures. Democrats demanded the names and addresses of those
voters so they could contact them and correct the errors. County officials
responded that in requiring that all 50 states offer provisional ballots
Congress had stipulated that such votes remain private. Republican lawyers
argued that having partisans scavenge for votes would increase the potential
for fraud.
But
Superior Court Judge Dean Lum said such arguments weren't as important
as the need to make sure every vote counted--an echo of Florida. A full
10 days after the election, while absentee votes were still being counted,
he ordered election officials to give the names and addresses of the provisional
voters to the Democratic Party. Judge Lum did express regret that the judiciary
was being "whipsawed in the middle" of a bitter partisan dispute and asked
to "micromanage an election." But then he proceeded to do precisely that
by allowing partisan workers the opportunity to mine flawed ballots after
the election, for the first time in the 20 years that Washington has used
provisional ballots.
Democrats spent the next three
days knocking on doors and speed-dialing voters. Ryan Bianchi, communications
assistant for Ms. Gregoire, made it clear how blatantly partisan the approach
was. Democratic volunteers asked if voters had cast ballots for Ms. Gregoire.
"If they say no, we just tell them to have a nice day," he told the Seattle
Times. Only if they say yes, did the Democrats ask if they want to make
their ballot valid. Republicans played catch-up by belatedly using their
own phone banks to call up voters and identify ballots that might fall
their way if made valid. In the end Democrats turned in some 600 written
oaths from provisional voters and Republicans about 200.
Those votes helped narrow
Mr. Rossi's eventual lead to 261 votes as the late absentee votes were
finally counted and the results certified on Nov. 17. Then the state began
a mandatory machine recount. Once again, King County was the center of
controversy. More than 700 previously uncounted ballots were added to the
county's total after election officials "enhanced"
them to better divine voter intent. When optical scan machines didn't accept
ballots, workers would

Russia Successfully Tests Anti-Missile Defense - Minister

Russia has conducted a successful test of an anti-missile missile, Defense
Minister Sergei Ivanov told the Russian Cabinet on Monday, the RIA-Novosti
 news agency reports.

At 11-00 Moscow time on Monday we conducted a successful test of an
anti-missile missile at the Sary-Shagaz testing grounds in Kazakhstan,
the
 agency quoted Ivanov as saying.

Russian strategic potential has been seriously decreased since the times
of
the Cold War, but President Putin pledges to bring back the country's
might.

In mid-November Putin said that Russia was working on new, unique, nuclear
missile systems. Various experts interpreted the Russian president's words
as an announcement that Russia may soon have weapons to counter the U.S.
 anti-missile defense system.

We know that we have only to weaken our attention to such components of
our
defenses as the nuclear-missile shield, and new threats to us could
appear,
the Russian leader said at a meeting with the heads of the military
forces.

I am sure that in the near future weapons will appear... which other
nuclear powers do not and will not possess, he said.

Putin gave no further detail about what type of weapons he was referring
to
or what shape these new security threats could take. We will continue to
consistently and successively build up the armed forces in general and its
 nuclear component, he said.

Secret memo deepens Thatcher link to coup plot
David Leigh and David Pallister
Saturday November 27, 2004
The Guardian

The Obiang regime in Equatorial Guinea yesterday jailed 11 foreign mercenaries
for up to 34 years, as documents surfaced further implicating Mark Thatcher in
a British-led coup attempt which has caused international embarrassment.

A long memo from the Old Etonian mercenary Simon Mann, said to be at the heart
of the plot, has been seized by authorities in South Africa. A court there
ruled this week that Mark Thatcher will face trial in April.

The memo, written before the coup attempt, refers to MT, identified to the
South African prosecutors as Mr Thatcher by a key witness.

The document taken from the plotters' computer says Mr Thatcher's role must be
kept secret, or the coup would be at risk: If involvement becomes known, rest
of us, and project, likely to be screwed as a side-issue to people screwing
him.

Mann goes on to say that even if mercenaries succeeded in taking over the
oil-rich state, news of Mr Thatcher's role would particularly add to a
campaign post-event, to remove us. He then emphasises: Ensure doesn't
happen.

These disclosures follow the leak of phone records revealing Mr Thatcher was
also in contact with another of the alleged British plotters, businessman Greg
Wales, at a crucial moment before the coup bid.

Mr Thatcher is facing a further five months on bail, reporting daily to police
from his suburban Capetown villa.

Mr Thatcher, who claims he thought he was financing a helicopter for an air
ambulance, gave an interview to Vanity Fair saying: I feel like a corpse
that's going down the Colorado river and there's nothing I can do about it.

The Simon Mann memo now seen by the Guardian does not implicate the British in
the coup. Instead, in what seems to be a detailed plan for a takeover, the
ex-SAS officer seems preoccupied with getting US backing, to prevent his
mercenaries being chased out of Africa once their role is discovered.

We must follow plan to ensure that neither US government nor oil companies feel
that their interests are threatened.

He says the US oil firms, who dominate Equatorial Guinea must be made to
believe very fast that the thing is in their interest; their staff safe; and
that we are very powerful.

In Equatorial Guinea yesterday, President Obiang's regime drew back from
imposing death sentences. Nick du Toit, the South African arms dealer who this
month retracted a confession alleging torture, drew a 34-year jail sentence.

Four other South Africans whom prosecutors said were mercenaries received 17
years each in prison. Three others were acquitted.

Six Armenian air crew received jail terms of between 14 and 24 years each.

Would-be president Severo Moto was sentenced in absentia to 63 years. Eight
other opposition exiles were similarly sentenced to 52 years each.

Subject: Election News: Kerry team jumps in

Friends,

It's been a while since my last email. I've been busy with family, holiday,
and travel. But the election story hasn't gone anywhere, in fact it's
gained quite a bit of steam (with zero help from the media).

In the last few days, Jesse Jackson been holding rallies all over Ohio to
raise awareness of the voting irregularities (fraud). In a speech on
Sunday, he revealed that he had talked to John Kerry who expressed his
support for the investigation and recount efforts.

Today this was confirmed, as the Kerry team filed official papers to
intervene in a legal battle in the state. As many of you know, the Green
and Libertarian party candidates have filed for a recount in Ohio. Judges
have since filed a restraining order on them, basically stating that their
recount request is not valid, because they were not close enough in the
election that a recount could make a difference to them in any way. This
goes against the Ohio constitution, which states any candidate can file for
a recount, as long as they were on the ballot. Still, the judges have
ignored this statute and have silenced the recount request. But if a
candidate that was close enough to be affected by a recount were to file
such a request, their ruling would not apply. Can anyone think of such a
candidate that could be affected by a recount?

John Kerry, reporting for duty.

Today the Cobb (Green Party) campaign announced that the Kerry team has
filed legal papers to intervene with the Judge's ruling. This is a major
development and represents the first legal action by the Kerry team. It
will not be the last. Please check the SolarBus website for a link to this
breaking story.

And that's not all. Bev Harris has filed a second lawsuit in Florida, this
one against election officials in Palm Beach County, which is normally a
democratic stronghold but mysteriously was more for Bush than anyone
expected. It appears that they have ignored her Freedom of Information Act
request for the audit logs of the electronic voting machines there, and
that is against the law. Check the website for a great story of how Bev
sneaked in to to a meeting to deliver the legal papers to the defendants.

There is also a developing story about a man named Wayne Madsen, who claims
to have smoking gun evidence of a $29 million check that was used to
finance the vote rigging operation. Some are concerned that this story
could be a plant, because if it becomes a big story and then was proven
false, it would raise doubts about the entire voter fraud theory (ala the
Dan Rather papers). Still, Madsen has provided hard details including the
check number, who it was written to, and other specific information that is
going to have to be reconciled at some point. His three articles and an
audio interview are now available on the SolarBus website.

There are dozens of new important articles found on the website. Please
look for the NEW symbol next to the stories I've added in the last couple
days.

I've also broken off the Take Action section into its own page. Please
read through it and do everything on there that you can. You'll notice a
growing list of local and nationwide protests that are being scheduled. A
big one is coming up on December 12th. Please participate if you can. We
need to show that we're not just a handful of tinfoil hat conspiracy
theorists. We are all types of people who just want our votes to
count. (There are some good photos of a protest in Denver in the Lead
Stories section).

A few reminders:

Don't wait for my emails to come. Check the website often, it is updated
much more frequently than the emails.

LAW RESTRICTS MUNICIPAL WI-FI NETWORKS
Pennsylvania Gov. Edward Rendell (D) said late Tuesday night that he
had
signed into law a large telecommunications bill placing severe
restrictions
on the ability of cities and towns to offer telecommunications services,
an
item that was heavily lobbied by Verizon and other big telephone
companies
in similar legislation across the country. The legislation signed by
Gov.
Rendell gives phone companies the right to deny municipalities the
ability
to deploy their own networks, which could hinder the deployment of
Wi-Fi
networks throughout the state. Gov. Rendell said that the bill's
provision
limiting municipal competition was a problem. However, he
pointed to
Verizon's agreement to waive its right to stop Philadelphia's plan for
a
Wi-Fi network, and said the state would work with other
municipalities on
projects that they have established or propose to establish in order
to
ensure that, to the extent that they are now viable, they will also
have
the opportunity to succeed. The legislation also contains a
potentially
lucrative provision giving phone companies like Verizon large incentives
to
promise to modernize their networks. Some have criticized that
provision
since companies would be eligible for the incentives after filing
the
modernization plans, but before the upgrades have actually taken
place.

The U.S. capital boasts many memorials, but none with a more bizarre
history than the obelisk erected to America's first president. Over 55
stories high and weighing over 90,000 tons, the Washington Monument
stands stalwart in the city's center. From concept to completion, it
took 100 years--years filled with mystery, ceremony, conflict,
government action, and inaction. Proposed in the late 1700s by a group
of prominent citizens and finished in the late 1800s by the Army Corps
of Engineers, the exterior is mainly Maryland white marble, while the
interior is made of granite, iron...and a few surprises. How did it
come together and why did it take so long? Historians tell stories of
stalling bureaucracy, secret societies, and triumphant engineering.
Stark and daunting on the outside, we let viewers know what's inside.

How The Bush Gang Stole Its Third National Election in a Row
By William Hare
11/29/04

The 2004 election theft marks the third in a row for the Bush Gang. While much has been written about 2000, unfortunately the pivotal 2002 mid-term elections came and went in a torrent, which was the way that Republican strategists wanted it. The one thing they fear is sober reflection followed by solid investigation. Fortunately they have the complaisant mainstream corporate media looking the other way.

The 2002 mid-term elections were viewed as a grand triumph for George W. Bush since he ostensibly defied the tradition that incumbent chief executives suffer losses in such contests. While the corporate media saluted him for his efforts and he received congratulations from liberal pundit Paul Begala on CNNs Crossfire, disturbing trends were observed by those detached enough from mainstream media ozone to investigate.

In Minnesota Democrats were united behind Walter Mondale as a replacement for the recently deceased Senator Paul Wellstone, who had perished in a plane crash, against Democrat turned Republican Norm Coleman. After some tough moments Wellstone had weathered well-financed Republican onslaughts to secure a lead in the polls before his tragic demise. Those same polls found Mondale maintaining a lead going into Election Day, upon which a big surprise was recorded and Coleman emerged the winner.

Republican Senator Wayne Allard was running behind in Colorado with the momentum going in the other direction. When the results were revealed he, like Coleman, had won in a final surge that the pollsters failed to detect. The identical phenomenon occurred in New Hampshire, where popular Governor Jean Shaheen, who had been on Al Gores short list for the vice presidency in 2000, appeared on her way to the U.S. Senate. The pollsters were once more revealed to be dramatically wrong as John Sununu Jr. pulled through with another one of those 2002 Republican final surges to nip his opponent at the wire.

The most widely observed case of Republicans seemingly clutching victory from the jaws of defeat occurred in Georgia. This is the state where Karl Rove enticed lackluster Congressman Saxby Chambliss to run against Vietnam War hero and incumbent Senator Max Cleland. Despite shameful television ads showing Cleland alongside Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden the incumbent appeared to have weathered the storm and was ahead in the polls, as was Democratic Governor Roy Barnes. On Election Day the Republicans had scored two more of those amazing come from behind victories in the face of negative poll forecasts as Chambliss and Republican gubernatorial candidate Sonny Perdue both won.

A few perceptive analysts observed the strong showings made by Chambliss and Perdue in polling areas when the widely heralded new Diebold voting machines were in use. They dovetailed this information alongside the fact that similar machines were being used in the other races in which Republicans had scored dramatic triumphs.

John Zogby had proven himself to be one of the nations most reliable pollsters in 2000, when he correctly analyzed Gores final surge and ultimate victory in the popular vote category, as well as in the Electoral College but for the fraudulent efforts of Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris in Florida and the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court majority in Bush vs. Gore, in which Federalist Society partisans Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas refused to recuse themselves despite conflicts of interest.

It is interesting to note that the usually reliable Zogby along with some of his professional colleagues, who had followed the aforementioned senate races closely, were mysteriously off by margins as high as 10 to 13 percent. These key races made the difference as Republicans took control of the United States Senate and Bush was saluted for his successful barnstorming on behalf of Republican candidates.

Despite all kinds of promises to fix things so that the 2004 presidential election could go off without major hitches, what occurred was a malicious mix combining the worst of the 2000 and 2002 scenarios. When the exit polls proved to be highly errant in key battleground states such as Ohio and Florida the mainstream media simplistically explained that Bush voters had demonstrated a greater reluctance to talk to pollsters than did Kerry supporters.

This argument sounds as convincing as the one Republicans made in 2000 that the reason why so many chads were spat out in Florida did not relate to the age and unreliability of the machines, but because large numbers of voters decided at the last second to not vote for president, resulting in half-hearted stabs at the paper before them. The same media that recited this nonsense repeatedly, as long as James Baker could say it with a straight face, is now attacking Internet critics citing corruption in the 2004 vote as

Bush's sneering smirk despised throughout the
World

Bush visits Canada to beg Paul Martin for help
with US Quagmire and Torture operations. Thousands show up to roll out the
'Unwelcome' matt for Bu$hco. Former Governor Bush can't go anywhere (including
within his own country) without people showing up to express their disdain.
Earlier US corporate media reports have indicated that Bush was forced to
cancel a scheduled appearance because there were fears that he might be heckled!
Even his neighbors can't stand him!OTTAWA (AP) - Holding up
signs calling US President George W Bush a "war criminal" and "liar," a few
thousand demonstrators rallied in the Canadian capital yesterday to protest his
visit, the US-led war in Iraq and a host of other issues. Organisers
said about 5,000 people, many of whom rode buses overnight from across Ontario
and Quebec, held a rally at Ottawa's City Hall before a planned march on
Canada's Parliament buildings. Police put the figure at between 2,500 and 3,000.
Making his first official visit to Canada, Bush arrived yesterday for
talks with Prime Minister Paul Martin. Bush was welcomed by many placards and
signs along his motorcade route, including a truck parked nearby that was
emblazoned with the phrase "Bush is a war criminal." Another placard branded him
an "assassin". Much the anger seemed focused on Bush's decision to
invade Iraq. Canada decided against sending troops to Iraq - a decision
supported by more than 80 per cent of Canadians. "Canada is not against
America. We're totally against Bush," explained Fredric White, a 40-year-old who
works for an entertainment company, who stood by the Parliament building as the
president's motorcade arrived. "He's arrogant and ignorant. We totally
disdain his policies on the war and his treatment of the UN," White said. "The
administration has an imperialist attitude where he thinks he can take over
countries by bombing them." One group, the Toronto Coalition to Stop the
War, planned to roll out a so-called "unwelcome mat" for Bush - a giant
carpet-turned-protest-sign. Protesters also voiced disapproval over trade issues
and US efforts to get Canada involved in the continental missile defence shield.
Christy Ferguson, a 27-year-old activist with Greenpeace, held a large
banner saying "Stop Star Wars." "We think Canada shouldn't even be
talking to the US about missile defence because it's driving nuclear
proliferation around the world," she said. Martin has promised an open
debate in the House of Commons on whether Canada should take part in the defence
programme. Polls show a majority of Canadians are against joining the system,
calling it destabilising and a misguided effort to put weapons in space.
An Ipsos-Reid/CTV poll released yesterday shows 58 per cent of Canadians
think Bush's re-election was a "bad thing", while 26 per cent believed it was
good. The poll surveyed 1,000 Canadians and had a margin of error of 3.1
percentage points. Joe Cressy, an organiser for the anti-Bush rally and
a student at Carlton University in Ottawa, called the protests a "direct
communication link to Bush" - but also "a message to our prime minister that he
should not support Bush's policies." Gathered at the City Hall rally,
Lawrence Wueft, a 60-year-old sculptor from the eastern province of New
Brunswick held up a banner made from a bed sheet that read: "Bush, go home. Keep
your bloody hands off Canada." "Bush, you're involved in an illegal war.
Don't involve Canada in that illegal war," he said.

If so, I think you should let us see it.

a constantine report exclusive about me was forwarded to me by kris millegan.
and while i can find no constantine report for which this would be major
breaking news,
still, being attacked by a wing-nut is unpleasant enough to provoke a response.

however, his first accusation is so baseless as to render his diatribe
meaningless:
nowhere have i even HEARD that ruppert got 40k from his widow and

thus i would have been unable to make the accusation in my vicious lashing

thus in his very first overwrought paragraph, mr. constantine is guilty of
slander, or libel,
(there is a difference between the two, which i should remember, but don't),
and i strongly urge whoever's website he has posted this to to remove it on

and i need make no defense against specious claims that i have lied about

my background in business television, such as it is, is EXACTLY as i have
stated publicly, and not immodestly:
along with numerous other business-related productions, i once produced a

no doubt by accident, mr constantine does us all a service by pointing out
that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

911 Author Daniel Hopsicker¹s
Credentials are Fraudulent

By Alex Constantine
A Constantine Report Exclusive

Something ain¹t always been jes¹ right with Daniel Hopsicker. The author of
Barry and the Boys and Welcome to Terrorland rarely documents his claims,
but his readers have long suspended disbelief and swallowed them hook(er),
(cocaine) line and (CIA) stinker. Terrorland has been widely reviewed and
touted as the definitive word on 911 air commando Mohammed Atta and crew.
Lately, he has made waves in the 911 Truth Movement by exposing its
co-option by CIA cut-outs, UFOlogists and occultists like author John Gray,
an operative of Saudi entrepreneur Adnan Khashoggi, and Byron Belitsos,
founder of 911Truth.org.

But on a hunch - after Hopsicker, from his MadCowMorningNews Internet soap
box, viciously lashed out at fellow researcher Mike Ruppert, author of
Crossing the Rubicon, accusing him of accepting $40,000 is speaking fees (a
figure later adjusted to $4,000), and calling him out as a traitor to the
911 Truth Movement - it occured to us to check out Hopsicker¹s credentials.

It¹s common knowledge in the 911 research community that Daniel Hopsicker is
a hard-bitten veteran of ³The Emerging Growth Stock Report.² By way of
introduction, in an interview conducted by Michael Reagan, the late
president¹s son, on August 22, 1997, Hopsicker gave a revised account:
³Mike, I'm in the television industry. I produce a business TV show called
ŒGlobal Business¹ internationally and on NBC. It has been airing for about
18 months...²

In Welcome to Terrorland, we learn that Hopsicker was the producer of NBC¹s
Inside Wall Street. He was clearly a mover in the television industry, a
shaker in the world of communications...

Unfortunately, he made it all up.

Daniel Hopsicker could not have produced a program for NBC called Inside
Wall Street because NBC has never aired a show by this name, according to a
search of the IMDB web site, a comprehensive television industry union
database (see, http://www.imdb.com to conduct the search). ³Global Business²
was apparently fabricated, as well - there is no mention of it in the IMDB.

This isn¹t to say that Hopsicker is completely devoid of experience in the
industry. In 1998, he did direct a program called ŒPhenomenon: The Lost
Archives,¹ hosted by Dean Stockwell, one of those ³alien² and ³crop circle²
hoaxgrams that pollute the cable

Kris, did Alex Constantine send you his criticism of Hopsicker
so that you could post it on your lists, as you have posted
his many articles on Khashoggi Co. during these past weeks?

Mark, Alex sends me lots of posts. Some I post some I don't. Some folks have also sent me posts about Alex, that I haven't posted. And to answer your question, Mark, yes Alex sent a copy to me. I also received several other copies from folks on both coasts. I am sure you can find a copy if you wish.

If so, I think you should let us see it.

It is Alex's post. Ask him. I have seen it several times. You want acces to my email box? Why? Are you trying to accuse me of something, Mark? Should I just forward everything that comes in?

While you are Hopsicker's associate, as I found when I dialed
the phone number on his madcowprod.com website whois record
and found myself talking with you 8^), Constantine is a very
knowledgeable and highly regarded researcher,

Maybe but I find that Alex is wrong in his accusations and I find his trying to taint Daniel by the venue where one of Dan's films was played, well, I guess that would leave Feral House and all of its sundry publications as fair game to taint Consantine. Actions I find to be very inane, juvenile and unproductive.

 and intellectual
honesty should compel you to post his original message, not just
Hopsicker's answer to it.

Yadda, yadda ...take your groupthink and put it the same place as your spurious theory of piano wires, little boxes in-the-ground, et al taking out the light poles around the Pentagon.

RICHARD ARMITAGE AND THE ISI

By Dennis L. Cuddy, Ph.D.November 30, 2004www.NewsWithViews.com

On November 17, 2004, Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage indicated he would be leaving that job. The average American is probably aware of little if anything about this important power player in international affairs, but his activities have been of considerable significance.

For years, Richard Armitage worked for the CIA and DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency). He also holds the highest Pakistani civil decoration that a foreigner can receive, and he has many friends in Pakistan's intelligence agency (the ISI, Inter-Services Intelligence).

Why would an American government official become so involved with Pakistan? For one thing, most CIA covert operations in that part of the world have been run through the ISI. Also, Pakistan is geopolitically important in obtaining oil from the Caspian region where Kazakhstan is located. Armitage (whose business clients have included Halliburton's Brown Root division, Boeing, Goldman Sachs and Chase Manhattan) and Dick Cheney in the 1990s had business or consulting interests in the Caspian region (Cheney has been CEO of Halliburton and on the Kazakhstan Oil Advisory Board), and in 1997 Armitage was contacted by the oil and gas giant UNOCAL to work for its Central Asia pipeline interests. Armitage also co-authored the July 2000 report of The Commission on America's National Interests, which described the need for obtaining oil from the Caspian region. The recalcitrant Taliban rulers of Afghanistan, however, were standing in the way of moving the
oil and gas from that region to Pakistan, the U.S., and elsewhere.

Relevant to this, in 1997 Zbigniew Brzezinski (first director of the Trilateral Commission) wrote THE GRAND CHESSBOARD, referring several times to "ruling national elites," and describing the importance of a pipeline from the Caspian region to the Arabian Sea via Afghanistan. He explained: "America is now Eurasia's arbiterHow the United States both manipulates and manages Eurasia's key geopolitical pivots will be critical to the longevity and stability of America's global primacyA possible challenge to American primacy from Islamic fundamentalism could be part of the problem in this unstable region...and would be likely to express itself through diffuse violence." And concerning American power, he continued: "The pursuit of power is not a goal that commands popular passion, except in conditions of a sudden threat or challenge to the public's sense of domestic well-beingAmerica may find it more difficult to fashion a consensus on foreign
policy issues, except in the circumstances of a truly massive and widely perceived direct external threat." Like the terrorist attack of 9-11, or the claim that Saddam Hussein had WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction)?

Digressing briefly, in 1952 the World Association of Parliamentarians for World Government developed a map showing what nations' military forces would be policing other nations when the world government became a reality. According to the map, American forces would be policing the Caspian region (Kazakhstan, etc.), and on September 14, 1997 American military forces did indeed begin conducting joint military exercises there, where the U.S. now has military bases.

The rumor now is that Richard Armitage will be replaced as Deputy Secretary of State by John

[CTRL] Deer-Hunter Slayings: Why Immigrants Kill

November 30, 2004

DEER-HUNTER SLAYINGS: WHY IMMIGRANTS KILL by Samuel Francis

Just exactly how many murders will it take to convince the Open Borders lobby, whose leader now seems to be President Bush, that mass Third World immigration is not such a good idea? Up in Wisconsin, a gentleman named Chai Soua Vang, a 36-year-old Hmong immigrant, just blew away six people, apparently because they threw him out of their privately owned deer stand he had decided to take over for his own use.Ten years ago, immigration expert Roy Beck wrote a path-breaking article in the Atlantic Monthly about the Hmong immigrants in Wausau, Wisc.—a discussion he repeated in his later book, "The Case Against Immigration.""The number of Southeast Asians burgeoned, and the city's ability to welcome, nurture, accommodate and assimilate the larger numbers shrank. Most immigrants were unable to enter the mainstream of the economy. Residents resented the social costs of caring for many more newcomers than anybody had been led to believe would arrive. ... Inter-ethnic violence and other tensions proliferated in the schools and in the parks and streets of a town that formerly had been virtually free of social tensions and violence."That's only a selection, but what Beck described is the predictable result of the mass immigration of a radically different people into a homogeneous community.Obviously, not all or even most immigrants turn out to be spree killers, and obviously there are plenty of homegrown ones—Charles Manson, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, et al. But in recent years immigrants, and especially those from non-Western and non-white parts of the world, have contributed more than their fair share to the annals of atrocity crimes. The most obvious is the World Trade Center in 2001, but well before that Jamaican immigrant Colin Ferguson murdered six passengers on a commuter train on Long Island in 1993. Pakistani immigrant Mir Aimal Kansi murdered two people outside CIA headquarters in the same year, which was the year after aliens first tried to blow up the World Trade Center. In 1997, immigrant Ali Abu Kamal shot up the tourists at the Empire State Building, and later two more immigrants were arrested for trying to blow up the New York subway system. There are a number of other cases that made national news at the time. Are they all just coincidences? Not exactly. The link between immigration and violence is that the aliens lack roots in the society and civilization into which they import themselves. The people they see aren't their people, and their moral and social norms aren't theirs, either. Being strangers in a strange land, they feel little obligation to it or its members. For immigrants on the fringe, the resulting tensions can overflow, and it's not easy even for those not so fringe. Thus, The Washington Post, not exactly a hotbed of nativist bigotry, offers this editorializing in its news article about the Wisconsin killings."Rules and etiquette on American hunting passed from generation to generation have proved unfamiliar to many Hmong, who come from Laos, where hunting is a practiced skill. The Lao mountains are among the wildest and least populated areas of the world. There are no regulations about what, where or when to hunt. Conservation officers and property owners in several states have reported conflicts with the Hmong over their hunting practices, often because they did not understand American traditions. Four years ago, Minnesota's Department of Natural Resources hired a Hmong officer to teach the community about local hunting and fishing rules."Well, I guess maybe the Department of Natural Resources didn't do such a bang-up job, and who can blame it? Why should we need government bureaucracies to explain our traditions and values to masses of aliens who have no business coming here at all? The "conflicts with the Hmong" the Post mentions so demurely are not just about hunting, and the conflicts are not confined to the Hmong. The exact same kinds of conflicts are obvious to anyone who deals with Third Worlders on any large scale. Will the Wisconsin mass murders of which Vang is accused lead the dominant culture to start rethinking immigration and its social consequences? Not a bit. Here's what ABC News found to worry about in the incident:"Vang's arrest left some Hmong citizens in his hometown fearful of a backlash. About 24,000 Hmong live in St. Paul, the highest concentration of any U.S. city. And the shooting has already provoked racial tension in an area of Wisconsin where deer hunting is steeped in tradition."That's the real problem, you see, not immigration but the racial "backlash" that may or may not come about from the white people whose friends and neighbors Vang slaughtered. Maybe the Department of Natural Resources can send in a team to teach them about racism.

Time to Engage Iran?

by Patrick J. Buchanan

Iran does not want a clash with the United States. And unlike Milosevic and Saddam, neither of whom wanted a war, either, Iran is determined not to give the neoconservatives the pretext to launch one.
This is behind Tehran's grudging acceptance of the British-French-German initiative to arrest Iran's nuclear program by forcing a shutdown of its facilities for enriching uranium. Iran claims the fuel was to be used in power plants. America says – and Europe fears – that any Iranian facility that enriches uranium for power plants could also be used to enrich uranium for atom bombs.
As of today, there is no hard evidence that Iran has a bomb or the fissile material to build one, or the operating facilities to produce the plutonium or highly enriched uranium needed to create one. But there are reasons to believe Iran is entertaining a nuclear option.
First, its nuclear program had been kept secret. Second, given what happened to neighboring Iraq, the mullahs, in facing President Bush, might well prefer the nuclear ambiguity of a North Korea's Kim Jong-Il to the nuclear nakedness of a Saddam Hussein.
Third, Iran is surrounded by nuclear neighbors, many of them hostile. U.S. forces are in Turkey, Iraq, the Persian Gulf, the Arabian Sea, and Afghanistan. Pakistan has nuclear weapons, as does India. Russia, which occupied northern Iran after World War II, is a great nuclear power, as is China. Israel, which has threatened to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities, has hundreds of nuclear weapons.
But there are also arguments for Iran's not going nuclear. While having a bomb might deter some enemies, to be caught secretly building one could provoke Israel or the Americans into a preemptive strike, and the Saudis and Turks into building their own bombs. How would that make Iran more secure?
However, if Iran would suffer grievously in a war with the United States – losing its nuclear facilities, navy, and air force, and being set back years – it is hard to see how America would benefit.
U.S. strikes would likely unite the Iranians behind the regime, and retaliation might come in the form of "volunteers" for a Shia uprising in Iraq and attacks on U.S. interests across the Middle East. Pro-American governments could be destabilized and an oil boycott imposed that could send prices to $70 or $80 a barrel.
But if neither we nor Iran would benefit from war between us, is there common ground on which we might stand to attain a cold peace?
Indeed, there is. Iran has already benefited from the U.S. ouster of the detested Taliban and Saddam, and it would surely not object to a Shi'ite government in Baghdad. And we both have a vital interest in a Persian Gulf kept open. Yet, the conflicts between us cannot be minimized.
First, the Iranian revolution is a failure, having created neither a great nor universally respected nation. Unlike the French Revolution, it has been unable to export or replicate itself. Twenty-five years after the fall of the shah, no nation looks to Iran as a model or inspiration. Twice, Iranians have voted in landslides for reformers to ameliorate mullah rule.
But while Tehran has an incentive to integrate the nation into the modern world, any such integration would dilute revolutionary purity and zeal, and could further estrange the regime from the people.
What makes détente with America almost impossible is that the ayatollah's revolution was as much anti-American as anti-Shah. Enmity toward the "Great Satan" legitimizes the regime. But should America suddenly no longer be an enemy, but a partner, Iran's people might ask: Why not open our country up to tourism, trade, and cultural contact with America? For communist Europe, that was the end.
What are the elements of coexistence between us?
Return to Iran of the billions she is owed by the United States, an end to U.S. sanctions and an invitation into the World Trade Organization. For America, it would require an end to Iran's sponsorship of terror, cooperation in Iraq, and restraint on Hizbollah as we try to broker a peace between Palestinians and Israelis.
As for its nuclear program, the United States could ensure Iran's access to peaceful nuclear power in return for a verifiable agreement not to build nuclear weapons. The problem? Iran may believe having a bomb is a better guarantor of her security than any U.S. promise. And, frankly, who could blame them?
As for the neocons' insistence on "regime change" in Iran, that is a deal-breaker, which is why Israel and the neocons have made it their non-negotiable demand. They don't want a deal. They want a war.
But what is best for America?

[CTRL] What Became Of Conservatives?

November 30, 2004

WHAT BECAME OF CONSERVATIVES? by Paul Craig Roberts

I remember when friends would excitedly telephone to report that Rush Limbaugh or G. Gordon Liddy had just read one of my syndicated columns over the air. That was before I became a critic of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, the Bush administration and the neoconservative ideologues who have seized control of the U.S. government.America has blundered into a needless and dangerous war, and fully half of the country's population is enthusiastic. Many Christians think that war in the Middle East signals "end times" and that they are about to be wafted up to heaven. Many patriots think that, finally, America is standing up for itself and demonstrating its righteous might. Conservatives are taking out their Vietnam frustrations on Iraqis. Karl Rove is wrapping Bush in the protective cloak of war leader. The military-industrial complex is drooling over the profits of war. And neoconservatives are laying the groundwork for Israeli territorial expansion. The evening before Thanksgiving, Rush Limbaugh was on C-SPAN TV explaining that these glorious developments would have been impossible if talk radio and the conservative movement had not combined to break the power of the liberal media. In the Thanksgiving issue of National Review, editor Richard Lowry and former editor John O'Sullivan celebrate Bush's re-election triumph over "a hostile press corps." "Try as they might," crowed O'Sullivan, "they couldn't put Kerry over the top."There was a time when I could rant about the "liberal media" with the best of them. But in recent years, I have puzzled over the precise location of the "liberal media."Not so long ago I would have identified the liberal media as The New York Times and The Washington Post, CNN and the three TV networks, and National Public Radio. But both the Times and the Post fell for the Bush administration's lies about WMD and supported the U.S. invasion of Iraq. On balance, CNN, the networks and NPR have not made an issue of the Bush administration's changing explanations for the invasion.Apparently, Rush Limbaugh and National Review think there is a liberal media because the prison torture scandal could not be suppressed and a cameraman filmed the execution of a wounded Iraqi prisoner by a U.S. Marine.Do the Village Voice and The Nation comprise the "liberal media"? The Village Voice is known for Nat Henthof and his columns on civil liberties. Every good conservative believes that civil liberties are liberal because they interfere with the police and let criminals go free. The Nation favors spending on the poor and disfavors gun rights, but I don't see the "liberal hate" in The Nation's feeble pages that Rush Limbaugh was denouncing on C-SPAN.In the ranks of the new conservatives, however, I see and experience much hate. It comes to me in violently worded, ignorant and irrational emails from self-professed conservatives who literally worship George Bush. Even Christians have fallen into idolatry. There appears to be a large number of Americans who are prepared to kill anyone for George Bush. The Iraqi War is serving as a great catharsis for multiple conservative frustrations: job loss, drugs, crime, homosexuals, pornography, female promiscuity, abortion, restrictions on prayer in public places, Darwinism and attacks on religion. Liberals are the cause. Liberals are against America. Anyone against the war is against America and is a liberal. "You are with us or against us."This is the mindset of delusion, and delusion permits no facts or analysis. Blind emotion rules. Americans are right, and everyone else is wrong. End of the debate. That, gentle reader, is the full extent of talk radio, Fox News, The Wall Street Journal editorial page, National Review, The Weekly Standard and, indeed, of the entire concentrated corporate media where non-controversy in the interest of advertising revenue rules.Once upon a time, there was a liberal media. It developed out of the Great Depression and the New Deal. Liberals believed that the private sector is the source of greed that must be restrained by government acting in the public interest. The liberals' mistake was to identify morality with government. Liberals had great suspicion of private power and insufficient suspicion of the power and inclination of government to do good.Liberals became Benthamites (after Jeremy Bentham). They believed that as the people controlled government through democracy, there was no reason to fear government power, which should be increased in order to accomplish more good. The conservative movement that I grew up in did not share the liberals' abiding faith in government. "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."Today it is liberals, not conservatives, who endeavor to defend civil liberties from the state. Conservatives have been won around to the old liberal view

Commissar Aaronovitch Ex-commie takes aim at Antiwar.com – and misses

by Justin Raimondo

They don't have neocons in Britain: over there, they're called Blairites, or New Labourites. But it's essentially the same thing: they love the State, they love themselves, and, most of all, they love war – in the name of idealism, you understand, which, in Blairite circles, amounts to what passes these days for "humanitarian" interventionism. In any case, I suppose it was inevitable that the British wing of the species would one day deign to notice Antiwar.com's existence – and in the same vehemently uncomplimentary vein as their American cousins – but David Aaronovitch, writing in the Guardian, doesn't even come close to matching the virulence of our very own Davids – Frum, Horowitz, take your pick. I expected rather more from the author of a book entitled Arson, Rape, and Bloody Murder.
However, the theme and subject matter of Aaronovitch's 2002 memoir – his trials and travails as the son of dedicated Communist Party members, and a Commie youth leader himself in the 1970s – might have given me a clue as to what to expect. The Communists have always had a characteristic way of arguing, one that manages to avoid confronting – or even mentioning – their political opponents' views, while linking all such "enemies of the people" together in a vast conspiracy of White Guards, Hitlerites, and top-hatted capitalists. Having reached middle age, these types often change their views radically – becoming, in the case of Horowitz, at least, Bizarro World versions of their old political personas – but the overall pattern of their thinking remains pretty constant. Their polemics, once pointed like an ice-pick at dissident Trotskyites and other deviationists, are directed at new enemies: yet they remain true to form in shaping their argument in conspiratorial terms.
Aaronovitch's ire is directed at anyone who has dared challenge the cult of Viktor Yushchenko, around which transnational progressives and neoconservative internationalists are converging in an intellectual Ribbentrop Pact of mutual convenience. His primary target is John Laughland, the politically unclassifiable Euroskeptic author and publicist, whose book The Tainted Source is a panoramic and revealing historical overview of the European Idea and its dubious origins in prewar fascist thought:
"Whenever, as this past week, eastern Europe is on the news, so too is a man called John Laughland. Last Sunday he was playing Ukrainian expert on the BBC's The World This Weekend, the day before he was here in the Guardian defending the Ukrainian election 'result', and at the beginning of the month he was writing for the Spectator – also on Ukraine.
"Laughland's great strength is that he sees what no one else in the west seems to. Where reporters in Kiev, including the Guardian's own Nick Paton-Walsh, encounter a genuine democracy movement, Laughland comes across 'neo-Nazis' (Guardian), or 'druggy skinheads from Lvov' (Spectator). And where most observers report serious and specific instances of electoral fraud and malpractice on the part of the supporters of the current prime minister, Laughland complains only of a systematic bias against (the presumably innocent) Mr Yanukovich."
One has to note, first of all, that Aaronovitch starts out his indictment with an _expression_ of sheer annoyance that Laughland is even allowed to voice his opinion on major media outlets: This, according to the moral strictures of the neocon-neocommie mindset, is his real crime. Why, Aaronovitch wants to know, is everyone paying so much attention to this upstart?
As for seeing what no one else sees – millions were sent to the Gulag for less! When Laughland reports the very real presence of neo-Nazis in the ranks of Ukrainian "reformers," Aaronovitch, rather than come right out and accuse him of lying, wonders why no one else has noticed this. Then again, no one but a few Russian émigrés and isolated right-wingers noticed the Soviet gulags when they were filling up with victims.
The accusation that Laughland's complaints lack specificity, on close inspection, appears to be utterly specious. You can't get much more specific than this:
"We are told that a 96 per cent turnout in Donetsk, the home town of Viktor Yanukovich, is proof of electoral fraud. But apparently turnouts of more than 80 per cent in areas that support Viktor Yushchenko are not. Nor are actual scores for Yushchenko of well over 90 per cent in three regions, which Yanukovich achieved in only two. And whereas Yanukovich's final official score was 54 per cent, the Western-backed President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili, officially polled 96.24 per cent of the vote in his country in January. The observers who now denounce the Ukrainian election welcomed that result in Georgia, saying that it 'brought the country closer to meeting international standards'. We

Alex , my note was no revision of your "story" -- it was an outright refutation of both what you say and infer.

Again,on that one simple point you are making an error in reportage. In no time in any website is anyone saying Daniel Hopsicker, "he was the producer of NBC's Inside Wall Street." Never. You made that up. You continue to make a false assumption.

Alex, you made up before: "In Welcome to Terrorland, we learn that Hopsicker was the producer of NBC's
Inside Wall Street."

What else have you made up?

Because you search some database doesn't make anything true either. I will bet that there are many shows that are not in that database.

Please email this response to all whom you have posted your Hopsicker Updated w/Millegan Revision missive.

Kris's bluffs will not make this go away, and neither will more of

As for meds, Daniel Hopsicker does have a mental disorder that is
typically treated by psycho-pharmaceuticals, and I have verification on
this. A number of people have been bcc'd on this message.

Hopsicker i once produced a business show, global business 2000, which
aired internationally on nbc...

The story keeps changing. Global Business 2000 doesn't even turn up
in a Nexis search.

Could it be, Hopsicker, that you're embarrassed to name this business
show?

If not, he should be.

Daniel Hopsicker is the producer of a business news television show airing
internationally on NBC called Global Business 2000.

Global Business 2000 + NBC, at google -- ALL that turns up is either by or
about Hopsicker.

Your item continued:

That is, he was the Producer until Dan produced a 2-hour special on the CIA
and drugs, Mena, Arkansas and Barry Seal called The Secret Heartbeat of
America.  Dan was told by his biggest friend in Hollywood, Your show will
not air while Clinton is President. When a subsequent attack in broad
daylight on Wilshire Boulevard outside the Federal Building in Los Angeles
confirmed his friend's judgment and prediction, Mr. Hopsicker began work on
a book called Barry and 'the boys, due to be finished by the end of 1999.

This guy couldn't talk straight if his life depended on it.

That was a complete waste of time. I can't find any reference to Global
Business 2000 at NBC, NBC-International, CNBC, NEXIS, or Google - except
for the stuff that ths guy wrote, of course.

This must mean that when, three days later, a van filled with Middle Eastern
men attempted to gain entry to Bush's hotel by posing as journalists, it has
nothing at all to do with terrorist ringleader Mohamed Atta's recent
presence on Longboat Key.

The two Arabs who killed Gen. Masoud in a suicide bombing on Sept. 9th were
posing as journalists.

Re: [CTRL] [TIA] Mariani / Berg update

2004-12-01 Thread Total Information

Cloak Dagger Internet Radio has been having technical problems as of late
(proprietor Lenny Bloom blames attacks by the Bush cabal -- to further
digress, recall the last time Bush was in Canada, CD was canceled by its
50,000 watt AM blowtorch), but 9/11 widow Ellen Mariani and online reporter
Tom Flocco made an appearance on the program the weekend before
 Thanksgiving.

Mariani Flocco confirmed that Mariani has indeed severed her connection to
attorney Phil Berg. Berg was Mariani's counsel when she filed a RICO suit
against Bush and many others in the Bush cabal.

Mariani said that she and Berg parted ways after Bush refused to file
conflict-of-interest motions against the attorney representing the daughter
of Mariani's late husband Neil, a Flight 93 passenger who apparently died on
9/11. Neil Mariani's daughter Lauren Peters was/is suing to seize control of
Neil's estate from her step-mother Ellen.

Berg has found another plaintiff to continue with the RICO suit, WTC rescue
hero William Rodriguez. Mariani says that Berg has kept donations made to
her legal fund through the website 911forthetruth.com .
