Problems with ssh and X
First, please accept my apologies for send my message to the wrong list. Thanks to Igor for suggesting the FAQ list. I have now tried: ssh -Y -l username remotemachine I now get the error message: connect 212.159.18.214 port 6000 Connection refused. (the IP address is the static IP address provided by my ISP) There is still nothing in the log of my Netgear NG834G firewall or the ZoneAlarm log. I shutdown Zone alarm and the same thing happened. Any thoughts or suggestions would be gratefully received. Many thanks, Chris. default font size
Hello, the default font size within the xterm, that comes up on the default installation of Cygwin is tiny. I would generally prefer a larger size. How do I increase the font size? (there is no XF86Config file any more). - Josef

Hi Christian, If I recall my past life properly, -Y (X11ForwardingTrusted) does not enable -X (X11Forwarding)... This doesn't stop people cold. It just prevents their first attempt sending email to the mailing list from being a clueless one. When doing X11Forwarding the DISPLAY variable should point to localhost:10.0 (or higher numbers) or is unset if X11Forwarding does not work. In your case it is set to remotehost:0.0 which is wrong.
