Does lsof exist for cygwin? He could use that to find what is using that address.

Hallo JJ,
here you have an xev.c, I had no trouble compiling it on HP/UX 11.
I haven't been able to get the xterm's on HP/UX or AIX to work with AltGr
and dead keys, I'm using xterm from Cygwin/X and rlogin to the HP/UX box
(which is not really BIG - physically).

Hallo Fergus,
would it not be possible with cygwin to mount /tmp as an in-memory

Hallo,
Will the rootless option be removed? Or do I get this (everything that
smelled like rootless) wrong?

Hallo H.,
When I start Xwin with the clipboard option, Xwin can be used with
DISPLAY=2.1.12.24:0.0 (ie. on the IP-address of my PC). But the inbuilt
clipboard seems to ignore this, and tries to contact 127.0.0.1:0.0 in vain.
I tried setting DISPLAY before launching Xwin, but no use.

Hallo Harold,
I've finally installed Cygwin/XFree86 with setup, until this morning I was
still using a version that I installed manually (ahum).
Haven't spotted the duplicate keystrokes (yet?).
After setup, I installed XWin-4.3.0-20-Test01.exe, since I experienced the

Hallo Harold,
Thanks for the input. Maybe the solution to this minor itch will be enough
incentive for me to start following the evolution of Xwin again: I'm stuck
on a pre-setup version (nov.2002).
You wouldn't happen to have some guidelines floating around about how to
move from a pre-setup

Setup should work just fine behind a firewall. In fact, I use it at

Why don't you

Hallo Harold and Kensuke,
Is it possible in XWin -multiwindow, to have the keyboard focus follow the
active window? When I switch windows with ctrl-tab, and start typing, input
still goes to the previous window.
Or is this not desirable for some reason?
Thanks,

You should feed your braincell more regularly, give it some water too.
The page you refer to is full of broken links and is trying to sell the
antique MI/X server. Which was never able to handle multinational
keyboards. Of course, this wouldn't be a problem, since yours is uppercase
only.
Yes, I still have it, happens a couple of times per day, but there are worse
