Well, the closest thing to a standard that there is specifies this behavior
[1]. In addition, the previous behavior was platform dependent. If you ran
it on a big-endian platform, it would open all pfms as big-endian.

that should be trivial to do with lua, everything is already in place
in 1.6 you can't create proper buttons, so you would probably have to do a
job and "hack" the cancel button into doing what you want
in master, you can create new UI elements in lua

I think it would be useful to introduce a button to open the directory where
the photo. Sometimes I want to copy a photo that I have in front in
lightable, but I have to go with the file browser following the route
showing the metadata.
