the lens may be recognised correctly by exiv2, but to be of any use in
the Lens correction module, there must be an entry in the lensfun
database, too. (I assume the image info panel shows the lens name
correctly.)
The web page linked by you tells you some info about lens calibration
and how to
darktable relies on exiv2 for the lens detection. You need to file a bug report
for exiv2 to get a new lens added.

I have Nikon D7200 with Nikkor 18-300 3.5-5.6 VR lens.
In Lens Correction Module, Darktable doesn't recognize my camera/lens pair.
The lens is identified by the number 173.
I try to locate it manually, but there's only Nikon D7000 body.
And no lens like mine.
