Is there a way of converting a style that has only one setting into a
preset?
I'd like to convert the skin retouching from dstyle into a preset.

No, not directly.
But you can apply the style and then go to the corresponding module and
create the preset. Should be easy enough :)

I have a problem. I print using a RIP (i.e. a separate image-to-pixel
converter), and have done a lot of software calibration using this RIP.
(It's TurboPrint, by the way). If I process my photographs using
Darktable, then export them to an image linked to the RIP's input
profile, then use PhotoPri

If I understand correctly there is no solution for you with darktable.
Indeed, darktable is using CUPS and you're using a dedicated RIP with
TurboPrint. A profile for RIP/TurboPrint cannot be used
