[darktable-user] Colour artefacts not visible in darkroom, only after export

2016-10-06 Thread Oliver Bedford
Hi, I've noticed a glitch, when working on an image with blown out highlights (white clouds). The image looks fine in darkroom, when the highlight reconstruction module is not activated. But when exporting to jpeg I get strange artefacts (blue/cyan borders around clouds). This is also visible,

Re: [darktable-user] Demosaic and color denoise leads to green artifacts

It seems the profiled denoise does produce some artefacts, which look like hot pixels (and aren't visible in the original image or are buried under the extreme colour noise). You can combat this side effect with the dead pixel module. There's also a "large-scale" colour noise present, for which yo

ut in difficult cases the result is - in my experience - better than without using this module (although perhaps technically a exposure time of 1/125 should not lead to dead/hot pixels). Oliver Am Donnerstag, den 03.11.2016, 22:00 +0300 schrieb Roman Lebedev: > On Thu, Nov 3, 2016 at 9:49

[darktable-user] Profiled denoise creates green highlights

Hi, using profiled denoise (wavelet, blend mode: colour) with images from my Canon M3 produces prominent green dots with strength = 4. A screenshot showing difference between strength = 4 (left) and strength set to 1 (right): https://www.dropbox.com/s/b6ri2gweimdqoyc/comparison.png?dl=0 In thi

[darktable-user] Not happy with the colours

2017-01-17 Thread Oliver Bedford
I'm not really happy with the colours dt produces from the raw files of my Canon EOS M3. E.g. in a photo taken of someone on a bright day in snow, the OOC jpegs have more saturation and brightness in the sky, the snow looks cooler (especially the shadows have more blue), whereas the skin tones lo

After opening and closing darktable a few times, running it on the command line etc., the problem is gone. Profiled  denoise now works as expected. No clue what was wrong. I _swear_ I didn't change anything! ;-) Sorry for reducing the signal-to-noise ratio. Oliver _

Coincidentally to the post by Per Östlund, I also have an issue with blue colors in an image. In an image of blue-violett pansies I get strong fringes, especially around out-of-focus blossoms. See the dark flowers (OOF) on the right. Standard colour matrix: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rmubexbdtowz
