Re: [datameet] Cauvery River Map Data

2019-02-09 Thread Devdatta Tengshe
HI Thej & Arun

The data is the coordinate system called the India LCC which is defined in
the NNRMS Standard. It has also got an EPSG code 7755 (https://epsg.io/7755)
which should be supported in the latest versions od GDAL/QGIS/PostGIS etc.

For the gernaerl Audiance, the best way I've found to convert this data to
GeoJSON or shapefiles, is to add the data to QGIS, and export it from
there. If you need a Programmatic way, then you could have a look at:
http://terraformer.io/arcgis-parser/

Devdatta

 Hello All,

 Cauvery river data is here
 http://www.india-wris.nrsc.gov.in/wrpinfo/index.php?title=Cauvery

I have extracted the map part here
 https://gist.github.com/thejeshgn/833dd94efde89f37ccb6df5a5e0ba55b

 you can see it here
 http://bl.ocks.org/thejeshgn/833dd94efde89f37ccb6df5a5e0ba55b

River data itself is coming from

 http://india-wris.nrsc.gov.in/ArcGIS/rest/services/Common/Watershed/MapServer

Is there an easy way to extract it as shapefile or geojson?

Else I will write a script...

 Regards,
 Thej

I found tools to convert to geojson. But
couldn't understand the projection system. What projection does it use?

Found the geometry in one of the requests:

http://india-wris.nrsc.gov.in/ArcGIS/rest/services/SubInfoSysLCC/River_SO/MapServer/14/query?f=json=RIVNAME%20in%20(%27Cauvery%27)=true=esriSpatialRelIntersects=RIVNAME%2CORIGIN%2CSHAPE.LEN%2CMAJOR_TRIBUTARY=dojo.io.script.jsonp_dojoIoScript7._jsonpCallback

Its supposed to be in a format called ArcGIS JSON. Not sure how one would
get a geoJSON
