Both are needed
option (2) acts as a server (changeset publisher)
and option (1) as a client (changeset subscriber)

We already provide the server and all you need to do is subscribe to our
changesets
Setting up your server can be tricky in keeping up and maintaining with
code updates

Hi,

I just want to be sure I understand. You mention Option 1 as easiest for us.

The communications API with Wikipedia you mention is what I describe in Option
2?

Thanks,

Hi Emery,

This was more a time to reply issue than a list issue:)

I think Option 1 is the easiest for you.
We had a few issues since February when we had to change the communication
API with Wikipedia and a few bugs came up but we should be fine now.

There is only a reported bug with the database that Openlink is looking atm
but might not apply to all cases
https://github.com/dbpedia/dbpedia-live-mirror/issues/7

Thanks for your interest & let us know if you face any other issues

Best,
Dimitris

[DBpedia-developers] Best local DBpedia live mirror‏ setup?

2016-10-18 Thread Emery Mersich
Hi,

I'm very sorry, I posted this message in a different list, but realize now this
is a better home for it.

I'd like to ask what is the preferred method, also looking into future support,
for maintaining a local DBpedia live mirror.

I believe the two options are:

1. Setting up a local DBpedia mirror and downloading the periodic Changesets to
update the DBpedia store.

2. Setting up a local DBpedia mirror and using the DBpedia Information
Extraction Framework to interface with a local Wikipedia mirror as described
here: https://github.com/dbpedia/extraction-framework/wiki/DBpedia-live

We maintain a Wikipedia mirror, but it runs the updates semi-automatically
monthly, so continuously making the changes described to the Mediawiki system
could be a hassle.

Thanks for your help!
