There should be a mode between default and expert that asks if using:
- DHCP or Static IP addresses
- LILO, GRUB, or NEITHER

FYI:
Usually there is no problem to boot GNU/Linux with this old
computer (e.g. Woody, Knoppix, RH, et. al.). However, the new
network installer (beta 9 November) does not recognize the CDROM
(/dev/hdd). Also, the boot diskette does not recognize the CDROM :(

detect the ATI chips. Too bad, it asks a difficult question
like the frequency of the LCD display.
I tried to dpkg --set-selection with my current package set,
and it seems to run well.
Great job, and thank you!

I guess there is a type error at:

If you run base-config again, it will be in english.
Is there a way to run it in a selected language?
Is is possible to add that information (how to select the language)
at the end of running base-config?

Bob User is not alone. The hardest part of the new D-I is
unfortunately to understand the intention of the d-i developers.
After that, all installation steps will make sense.

AFAIK (CMIIW), one of the design philosophy of D-I is to make D-I
easy to maintain, by pushing as much packages as regular packages.
