I have worked on bterm and libutf-8, but it may still needs some more
time before to use them in potato. So some work-around is required now,
and the scheme above can be a candidate for it, I hope.

How do you think about this ? Having several localized base tar ball
is not smart solution for Debian, I think. If the "official" Debian
b-f does have the scheme to use add-on pack on the single base tar ball,
then it will work for all localized installer, I think.

Maybe not. Anyway, since termwrap has benefit on potato base system,
I think we can work to put it in our boot-floppies.
P.S.
I have not created my patch to add the support for "language add-on pack"
yet, but I wish to have it for potato...

The compact and idepci kernels have framebuffer support. Why would we

nidd Now, when we'll get those utf8-enabled slang1 and newt packages,

Thanks! Now we have to check newt-utf8 by Enrique, then check the problem
in bogl-bterm which impede bterm working without libutf8.

Hi, Enrique. As far as I checked, this libnewt-utf8-0 does not work
with the utf8 enabled slang1 packages above (pppconfig failed at

I've rebuilt them and upload
packages require minor bug fixes as well as recompilation. The same
fixes will be required for slang2, anyway.

And also we need bdftobogl command with mergebdf perl script,
both of them could be made from the source package of bogl-bterm.
They are used when we generate bogl font (.bgf) from bdf fonts
