Eterm doesn't have the capacity to remove its own window decorations. It has to send a request to the window manager. What you describe, though, sounds like it's setting OverrideRedirect on the window, which means the window manager should ignore it completely. At any rate, I can't reproduce this

In the light of your recent pull of classpath 0.92, I took another
look at this bug. The bad news is that it's still present; the good
news is that I've found a fix, per the below patch (without which the
test for L 0 always fails on 64-bit
