Hi Hilmar,
it's not really a bug since rubber is supposed to run with Python2.
(Full Python3 compatibility is a lng way off.)
Those issues will be gone in 1.4 (already committed).

Huh. After several reboots of the guest OS, Chromium now starts.
This is decidedly odd.
The error message from Chromium is still there, that was a red herring.
Additionally, there are now a bazillion (roughly) additional error

I have begun isolating the problem parts,
and will now iterate through them, deregistering
the packages from doc-base to try and get a successful

The output from the second index run, after having

I had the same bug, both on a desktop machine with the nvidia driver
and on a Virtualbox VM.
A workaround has been to install xserver-xorg-legacy (works at least
on the VM, I haven't tried on the other one).
Thank you ximion for the tip.

Followup-For: Bug #797159

squeeze I just figured that it's packaged again :) and then figured
it's cli only :(.
Writing a bug report I then found this thread and downloaded twinkle

A recent upload to Mentors fixes this issue. It should be in the archive
shortly.
Should Britney remove the package from testing on Nov 5, you can still get
it from unstable. Just download it from https://packages.debian.org or via
apt.
