Here the issue turns out to be in permissions. I've been running cyr as a
normal user; cyr -v shows errors; running as root works.

I am also getting this crash when pango-graphite 0.9.2-3 is installed,
with Mozilla Firefox trunk nightlies since 2007100604, when
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362682 was fixed
. I don't even remember what fixed it and
when; I'm running the latest Etch now. I think it might have disappeared
when I updated the rest of libraries that were from backports. You can
close the bug.
