update-usbids does honour the -q (quiet) option but it's not documented.
The attached patch adds it to the manpage.

Plantronics .Audio 626 DSP headsets have their micmute recognized as
some kind of keyboard modifier, which messes up all xorg input while
it's turned on.
I've attached a small patch which fixes it:
ENV{ID_VENDOR_ID}==047f,
This is due to the following line in /usr/share/xsessions/awesome.desktop:
NoDisplay=true
Change that to false and it shows up in the lightdm menu.
Why is this set to true in the package?

Using network manager and a built-in 3945 Intel wifi chipset.
I can't connect to my local access point using WPA. Here are the relevant log
messages:
May 25 12:30:49 hostname NetworkManager[6234]: info Auto-activating
connection
It turns out that I was missing the following two kernel modules:
ccm
ctr
If I load these in /etc/modules, then I can connect to my WPA access point
without any problems.
A better error message pointing in that direction would be nice.

Hi Felipe,
Quoting Felipe Sateler fsate...@debian.org:
This bug is very old. Do you still see this messages? Frankly I don't
quite understand what the error message means, and it looks to me that
the problem is in the grsec patch rather than in pulseaudio.

I had the same problem and found that the work-around is to add this line to
