Bug#1015556: [Pkg-utopia-maintainers] Bug#1015556: network-manager: ftbfs with LTO (link time optimization) enabled

2022-08-25 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Ubuntu's network-manager has been using a configure flag --enable-lto https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/1.30.0-1ubuntu2 Michael, do you want to try that? And I believe on Debian you would still need the special optimize=+lto build option. Thank you, Jeremy Bicha

Bug#1017958: tiff: Don't build with LERC on i386

2022-08-23 Thread Jeremy Bicha
To be more specific, lerc requires numpy and Ubuntu doesn't want to build numpy for i386. So Ubuntu would be required to manually merge tiff packaging updates if my patch isn't accepted. Thanks, Jeremy Bicha

Bug#1017958: tiff: Don't build with LERC on i386

2022-08-23 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Right, it's a tradeoff. Is having lerc compression support critical enough on i386 to justify making extra work for Ubuntu? It already is not critical enough to be enabled on some Debian release architectures. Most people using Debian should be using amd64. Thank you, Jeremy Bicha
