. But, I checked the output of ifconfig, and there was no IP assigned to the lo interface. ifconfig lo down ifconfig lo up did the trick. I don't know why this happened to the loopback, but correcting it did fix the courier problem immediately. -- -John Sullivan -http://www.wjsullivan.net
